GRADE 10- MATHEMATICS
QUARTER 3 PERFORMANCE TASK - PROBABILITY
Instructions: Make a video on experimental and theoretical probability. Your video should not exceed duration of 7 minutes.
Materials needed:
-Six-sided die
-Coin
Activities that your group will do:
Experimental Probability
Rolling the die 50 times
Tossing a coin 20 times
Theoretical Probability
Roll the die once
Toss the coin once
Required output
Video presentation
PDF document
What should be included in the video?
- Introduction of the members.
- 4 activities
What should be included in the PDF document?
-Data of the Experiment
-Reflection on the experiment (not more than 300 words)
Guide Questions:
1. What did you observe in your activities? Did the outcomes of your experiments change as you increased the number of trials? If so,
how?
2. Were there any outcomes that were significantly different from the theoretical probabilities? Why do you think these differences
occurred?
3. Reflecting on the differences between theoretical and experimental probability, what insights did you gain about the practical
application of probability theory in real-world scenarios?
4. How could the results of your experiment be used to explain probability to someone unfamiliar with the concept?
5. Reflecting on your experimental process and outcomes, how would you design a future experiment to further explore the concept of
probability?

Experimental Probability - It is based on actual experiments or observations. It is found by comparing the number of times an event
occurs to the total number of trials, the times that an experiment is carried out.
Theoretical Probability- It is used to estimate the probability of an event when all outcomes are equally likely.
(This is the format you must follow)
