QUESTIONS AFTERTHE OBSERVATION I HAVE DONE
I USED NSE INDEX TO OBSERVE STOCKS
Q1. Where we can get the company’s
financial report and other information?
There are three places where you can get the financial
reports and other pieces of information of a company–
1) Company’s website, 2) Stock exchange website
(NSE/BSE), and 3) Financial websites (like moneycontrol,
investing, economic market etc)
Q2.How to find good companies as there are
thousands of publicly listed companies in
the Indian stock market?
An easier approach would be to use a stock screener. By
using stock screeners, you can apply few filters (like PE
ratio, debt to equity ratio, market cap etc) specific to
the industry which you are investigating and get a list of
limited stocks based on the criteria applied.
Q3.What is meant by stop loss? How it is
beneficial for traders?
Stop-loss can be defined as an advance order to sell an asset when
it reaches a particular price point. It is used to limit loss or gain in a
trade. If you are a trader, then yes!! Stop loss can helps
to prevent a lot of damage and you should definitely use
it in your traders.
Q4. What kind of stocks should We avoid?
We should avoid investing in stocks with low liquidity.
There are a number of small-cap stocks where the prices
may be continuously falling, but the investors are not
able to sell that stock just because there are no
buyers. Avoid investing in companies with low liquidity.
Q5.Why would a company distribute its earnings through
dividends to common stockholders?
Regular dividend payments are signals that a company is healthy
and profitable. Also, issuing dividends can attract investors
(shareholders). Finally, a company may distribute earnings to
shareholders if it lacks profitable investment opportunities.
Q6. What I understand by Stock market indices? Name
the major stock market indices.
Stock market indices are used to measure the general movement of
the stock market. It is used as a proxy for overall market
movement. The major stock market indices are:
- Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index (BSE) popularly known
as Sensex. It reflects the movements of 30 sensitive shares from
specified and non-specified groups.
- S and P CNX nifty, known as Nifty Index. It reflects the movements
of 50 scrips selected on the basis of market capitalization and
liquidity.
Q7. Difference between Bombay Stock Exchange and
National Stock Exchange?
- Bombay Stock Exchange index or Sensex was started in 1986
whereas National Stock Exchange index namely Nifty started in
1995.
- The base year for the Sensex is 1978-79 and base value is 100
whereas the base year for nifty is 1994 and base value is 1000.
- BSE consists of 30 scrips whereas NSE consists of 50 scrips.
- BSE is screen based trading whereas NSE is ringless, national,
computerized exchange.
- BSE has adopted both quote driven system and order driven
system whereas NSE has opted for an order driven system.

I USED ZERODHA BROKERAGE APP OF TRADING AND
MONEY CONTROL APP OF ECONOMIC TIMES
Recovery in the current stock market
It would be foolish to expect a quick economic rebound from the
current COVID-19 effect. Though the financial crisis is inevitable,
considering all-out efforts by central banks and fiscal authorities,
to soften the blow, deep economic slump might be avoided. The
problem in the current scenario is that until we know how quickly
and thoroughly the public-health challenge will be met, economists
cannot predict the endgame of this crisis. Trade-in 2020 is expected
to fall steeply in every region of the world and basically across all
sectors. But global trade could rebound rapidly after that. However,
it would depend on how quickly the pandemic is brought under
control, and the policy choices which the governments took to
support their economies. Once this pandemic is over with normalcy
returning to business and economy, the stock market will start
moving in a positive direction, and as witnessed in the past,
recovery would be faster than expected.
