Choose one of the following topics to write about. Write at least five sentences.

Level 3—Unit 5 Achievement Tests 4 www.irLanguage.com

• Write about your job skills, abilities, experience, and/or knowledge. You can discuss the job you have now or a
future job.
• Think about a work or life decision that you made and later regretted. Why did you regret it? What happened in
the end?

I have had many regrets in my life, but my biggest regret is how reserved I was
when I was younger, especially in secondary school. As a very shy kid in middle
school, I had no friends. I did everything by myself and had no one to talk to.
Looking back, it was a very stressful time for me, and I felt like an outsider in my
class. As a result, I have many bad memories from those days. To change this, I
made a promise to myself to always speak up and make as many friends as I
could. Now, I have a close group of friends that I love deeply, and I can’t imagine
my life without them.

Looking back, even though that time was difficult, I realize that those experiences
helped me grow. Deciding to overcome my shyness and connect with others
brought me meaningful relationships, and today, I know that the changes I made
in the past shaped the person I am today. The lessons I learned from that time also
help me face challenges more confidently and build deeper connections in my life
now.

Speaking Test

Imagine that a friend of yours wants a particular job (engineer, lawyer, teacher, etc.) but
doesn’t have enough talent, skills, experience, etc. First tell what kind of job your friend
wants. Then give your friend advice. Say at least five sentences.
