Materials and tools:
1. Cotton blend yarn, Sport 5ply weight (yardage
330 m / 100 g)
In White (approx. 350-380 g.), Black, Green, Red and
Orange colors.
2. Crochet hook 2 mm.
3. Polyester fiberfill for stuffing.
4. Black flatback pearls, diameter 12 mm – 2 pcs.
5. White felt circles, diameter 1.9 cm (3/4”) - 2 pcs.
6. Tapestry needle with large eye.
7. Tailor pins.

Abbreviations used:
MR – magic ring;
st(s) – stitch(es);
ch – chain;
sl-st – slip stitch;
sc – single crochet (US), double crochet (UK);
inc – increase (2 sts worked into the same stitch = 1 increased).
dec – decrease (2 stitches crocheted off together, with separate bases and a
shared top);
hdc – half double crochet (US), half treble (UK);
dc – double crochet (US), treble crochet (UK);
blo – work through the back loops only;
picot – crochet ch2 and connect the chain with a sl-st in the first ch.
(sc, in)... times – repeat instructions in parenthesis the indicated number of times.

Size information:
The snowman 49-50 cm high (including the hat) x 27 cm in diameter.
If not otherwise stated, all parts of the toy are always worked in continuous spiral
rounds.

Put stuffing inside the head.

Round 130: (18 sc, dec) x 10 times (190)

Don’t cut the yarn, leave the loop open.

Attach the bottom piece to the snowman's hole and join them with sl-st together. After
closing the hole halfway, put the stuffing in the body and then close the hole all the way.
When stuffing, make sure that the bottom patch stays flat. Cut the working yarn, and
hide the end on the inside.

Hands (make 2)
First make two fingers with color Green:
Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)

Fasten off.

Mittens
Begin with color Green. Stuff in course of crocheting.

Stuff the mitten with fiberfill.

Crochet forward 9-10 sc more, so that the hook is at the edge.

We add more stitches to move the hook to the edge of the arm, so that after stitching its
layers, the seam should be parallel to the palm.
Stuff arm with fiberfill, but not too firmly.
Fold the opening in half and crochet sc grasping the both edges.
Cut the working yarn, leaving an end long enough for seaming.

Return to Green yarn left hanging on the outside, and work 1 round of sc through the
unused front loops, next round 1 sc in every st and then 1 sl-st in every st. Cut the yarn,
weave in the end of thread inside the piece.

Nose
With color Orange.

Pockets (make 24)
With color White.
Crochet a chain of ch 12 + ch1 for height adjustment.
Work in back-and-forth rows with turning.
Row 1: sc in each every st. (12)
Row 2: ch 1 for height adjustment, inc, 10 sc, inc (14)
Row 3: ch 1 for height adjustment, sc in each every st. (14)
Row 4: ch 1 for height adjustment, inc, 12 sc, inc (16)
Rows 5-11 (7 rows): ch 1 for height adjustment, sc in each every
st. (16)
Without cutting the yarn crochet sc along three sides of the pocket.
Cut the working yarn, leaving an end long enough for seaming.

Holly leaves (make 3)

With color Green.
Crochet a chain of ch 12.
Round 1: beginning into the 2nd chain from the hook: 2 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 1 sc, 3 sc
in the last chain of the chain. Continue into the unused loops on the other side of the
chain: 1 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 1 sc, inc in the last st. Sl-st in the first st., ch 1 for height
adjustment. Start the next round from the same stitch you just made in sl-st.
Round 2: 2 sc, ch2, sl-st in the 2nd chain from the hook (picot), sc in the same st.) repeat
11 times, 2 sc, sl-st in the first st.
Fasten off a thread for all leaves except the third one.
For the third leaf cut the working yarn, leaving an end long
enough seaming.

Berries (make 3)
With color Red.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Rounds 3-4 (2 rounds): sc in each every st. (12)
Round 5: 6 dec (6)
Stuff with fiberfill, and pull the opening closed.
Cut the working yarn, leaving an end long enough seaming.

Assembly and decoration
1. Cut two circles out of white felt, in diameter of 1.9 cm or
use ready felt circles.
2. Glue on white felt black flatback beads as pupils. Glue the
eyes to the head.
3. Sew the nose to the head, don't forget add more stuffing
before closing the seam.
4. With Black yarn, embroider the mouth in backstitch.
5. Sew the arms to the body two rows below the neck.
6. Sew leaves and berries to the hat.
7. Sew the hat to the head.
8. With Red yarn, embroider numbers on the pockets in
backstitch.
9. Sew the pocket to the body as shown on the photo.
10. Put a scarf on the snowman.
