What is Backlink?
Basically Backlinks is a way of promoting your products or services.
Backlinks (also known as
“Inbound links”, “Incoming
links” or “One way links”) are
links from one website to a
page on another website
Are Backlinks Important?
Yes, Backlinks are basically votes from other websites. Each of these votes
tells search engines: “This content is valuable, credible and useful”.
So the more of these
“Votes” you have, the
higher your site will rank in
Google and other search
engines.
Types of Link?
There are different types of links we can get, but by dividing into the
characters, we found mainly two types
1. Do Follow
2. No Follow
Do Follow Link
The term Do Follow Link is introduced in 2005 by Google, to reduce the search
engine spam indexing and to improve the search engine results. Only Do
Follow Links pass link juice to the linked webpage and influence the target’s
page rank.
Do Follow Links are an important part of an SEO strategy for building backlinks to a website.
The main benefit of Do Follow Links is that they improve the Page Rank of a website and
individual web pages. The more high quality Do Follow Links a site has, the better it ranks in
search engines.
No Follow Link
A No Follow link, or link, is a link which does not pass authority on to the
website it is linking to.
No Follow links are links to your website with the rel= “nofollow” tag. This tag tells search
engines to ignore that link and not count it towards your site’s backlink profile.
Since search engines don’t count these links, they don’t count towards improving your ranking
in search results. Users can still click on these links to visit your page, as well as copy them and
use them like any other link on a website. Mainly No Follow Backlinks are created for link
Diversity.
Different Link Gaining Approach
Link Earnings: If someone put a hyperlinks on his/her website without your concern, As your
content is more informative in that topic. Then It’s called Link Earning.
Link Building: If you get backlinks concerning with another relevant website. Then It’s called
Link Building. Like Guest Posting, Blogger Outreach Backlinks, Profile Backlinks, Blog
Comments, Directory Submission, Question Answer, etc.
Types of Anchor Text
Exact Match: Anchor text is “exact match” if it includes the exact match of the keyword you are
targeting. For example: “SEO services” links to a page about SEO services.
Partial Match: Anchor text that includes a variation of the keyword on the linked-to page. For example:
“SEO Content Marketing Services” links to a page about Content Marketing.
Branded: Use of a brand name in the anchor text. For example: ‘LinkedIn’ linking to an article on
Linkedin.com.
Generic: Use of a generic keyword link “Click here.”
Images: If you use an image, Google will use the text in the image alt attribute as the anchor text.
Naked Link: A URL that is used as an anchor. For example, “www.searchenginejournal.com” is a naked
link anchor.
Best Practices for Anchor Text
First, ensure your anchor text is relevant to the page you are linking to. Irrelevant anchor text can
confuse users and search engines alike.
Second, vary your anchor text usage. Using the same anchor text repeatedly can be spammy to both
users and search engines.
We often don’t have any control over who links to your website and what anchor text they use as a link
to your content.
Keep the anchor text to a few words if possible, and don’t provide a long sentence that does not look
natural. The anchor text should describe the page you’re linking to and help entice end users to click on
the link.
Finally, keep your anchor text natural. Do not stuff keywords into your anchor text to game the system;
this will only result in a potential penalty from Google.
What Not to do with Anchor Text
First, do not use exact match keyword-rich anchors excessively. This looks spammy and unnatural and
will trigger a penalty from Google.
Second, do not use generic anchors such as “click here,” “read more,” etc. These provide no context or
information about where the user will be when they click the link.
Finally, do not use excessive cross-linking; too many links going to and from the same pages looks
suspicious to both users and search engines alike.
Anchor Text Uses
• Branded Anchor Text: 30%
• Naked Links: 30%
• Generic Anchors: 30%
• LSI, Partial Match Anchors: 1-5%
• Exact Match Anchors Text: Less Than 1%

Broken Link Building
Broken link building refers to the process of finding pages in your niche with dead backlinks. Once you've
identified these pages, you reach out to the websites' owners and recommend that they link to your
content instead.
It’s a win-win situation—the webmaster replaces a broken link on their site (thereby improving their site
quality and user experience) and your page potentially wins a new backlink.
Broken link building is a white hat technique because it involves creating high-quality content and
reaching out to external websites with the aim of winning an inbound link.
The Process Involves a Few Steps:
1. Find broken links from web pages in your niche.
2. Identify or create content that will replace the original page.
3. Reach out to website owners and convince them to replace the broken link with yours.

content that provides even more value to rank even higher.
Steps –
1. Find relevant, top-ranking content that has a high number of backlinks (referring domains).
2. One-up the existing content with new information, research, or visuals that provide further value to
readers.
3. Perform email outreach to secure backlinks to your new content rather than the original content.
