Group Activity: PSA Project Script (Part II)

1. PSA Topic: Social Wellness

Technology Format: We plan to use YouTube for the final video platform due to its accessibility

and broad reach.

Creative Means: Our PSA will incorporate a mix of acting scenarios, infographics (created using

Canva), and voice-over narration to address the impacts of social media on mental health, sleep

quality, and body image among teenagers and young adults.

2. Tone of the PSA

The tone of the PSA will be serious and informative. We aim to engage viewers by presenting

factual information combined with personal stories to underline the significant impact of social

media on wellness.

Fact 1: Teens can easily access extreme, inappropriate, and harmful content. In certain

cases, deaths have been linked to suicide- and self-harm-related content, such as

visual coherence.

● Actors: Matt, Seerat, Can, Danya - Perform scripted scenarios, voice-over narration.

Introduction (0:00-0:30)

● Graphic: Opening title "The Hidden Impact of Social Media" fades in.

● Music: Soft, thought-provoking instrumental begins.

● Voice-Over (Seerat): "In today’s digital age, social media is a double-edged sword..."

Scene 1: The Pressure of Perfection (0:30-1:00)

● Danya: Acts out a scenario checking social media and feeling visibly distressed.

● Voice-Over (Matt): "Teens, like Danya, often face immense pressure to match the perfect

images they see online."

Scene 2: Sleep and Social Media (1:00-1:30)

● Can: Portraying a teen trying to sleep but distracted by phone notifications.

● Voice-Over (Can): "Staying up late, glued to the screen, harms more than just your

sleep..."

Scene 3: The Time Drain (1:30-2:00)

● Matt: Shown trying to study but distracted by social media.

● Voice-Over (Seerat): "Hours spent on social media can lead to slipping grades and lost

personal time."

Conclusion and Call to Action (2:00-3:00)

● Graphic: Infographic showing statistics from the sources.

● Music: The music shifts to a more hopeful tone.

● Voice-Over (All Actors in rotation): "It's time to take control back from our screens. Let's

use social media wisely and look after our mental health."
