1. Knowing about COVID-19 - then and now

- When did you first hear about COVID-19? What were your feelings when you started hearing
about COVID-19? Did those feelings change over time, and if so, what triggered the change?

- Where were you when the first lockdown was announced in the country?

2. Family life and Social Life

- How has COVID-19 affected you and your family?

- What was your relationship with your family like before COVID-19?

- Has the COVID-19 outbreak affected how you associate and communicate with friends and
family?

- How has your social life in the community been affected by the pandemic?

3. Communication – Social Media Usage

- Did your usage of social media or specific platforms change because of COVID-19?

- Were you aware of media coverage and a wide range of reports about COVID-19?

- How did you seek information about COVID-19? Did you have a reliable source for safety
measures?

- If you experienced anti-Asian xenophobia and hate crimes due to biased media coverage of
COVID-19, could you describe your experiences?

- Have you or anyone you know gotten sick during the COVID-19 outbreak? What was your
experience in responding to the sickness?
