Micro-Project Report
Heatwave: Its Cause and Prevention Methods.
1. Rationale :
Heat waves are prolonged periods of excessively hot weather that can
significantly affect human health, the environment, and infrastructure.
Understanding their causes and effects is crucial to mitigating their
impact, raising awareness, and fostering climate resilience in vulnerable
regions
2. Aims/Benefits of the Micro-Project :
Micro-Project helps student to develop social skills which are necessary for
team work. Students express their thoughts and cooperate to with each other

3. Course Outcome:
a) CO1: Understanding the environmental challenges caused by extreme
weather events
PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 5
b) CO2: Gaining insights into the relationship between human activities
and climate change.
c) CO3: Developing analytical skills by exploring scientific data and case
studies.
d) CO4: Develop solutions to ensure the Heat waves doesn’t effect
humans
e)
4. Literature Review :
Heat waves have been extensively studied in recent years due to their
increasing frequency and severity. Key findings include:
Causes: Greenhouse gas emissions, urban heat island effects,
deforestation, and global warming.
Effects: Health problems (e.g., heat stroke, dehydration), economic
losses (e.g., reduced productivity, increased energy demand), and
environmental degradation.
Studies highlight the importance of early warning systems,
sustainable urban planning, and international collaboration to
address heat waves effectively.
5. Actual Methodology Followed :
Once the micro project title was disclosed, the given topic was divided into
smaller sub-topics which then were sent to all the group members. Once the
group members had received their sub-topics, the team members researched
their sub-topic and sent their respective data to the team group for everyone
to read and understand.
