Instagram User Analytics

Project Description: The purpose of this project is to analyze Instagram


user data to derive meaningful insights that can help improve engagement,
content strategy, and user growth. We can better optimize social media efforts
for increased user retention and targeting by looking at likes, comments,
shares, and follower growth. Actionable insights will let us make relevant
changes to the content strategy, engagement tactics, and community
management.

Approach: To manage this project we will follow a structured data


analytics process, following steps:
1. Plan:
a. First of all I will define the goals.
b. Then identify key performance indicators such as follower
count, like count, engagement rates etc.
2. Prepare:
a. Here we get the data from Trainity dataset.
b. Clean the data to ensure accuracy and remove redundant
data if necessary.
c. Organize and structure the data into manageable datasets.
3. Analyze:
a. Here we analyze different problems given by Trainity.
b. Solve those problems with a meaningful insights.
4. Share:
a. Create a comprehensive report or PPT with all those
solutions and insights.

Tech-Stack Used: The tech stack used included MySQL Workbench


v8.0.38.0, which is a great tool for any database related works.
Marketing Analysis

1. Loyal User Reward:

Insights: The marketing team aims to recognize the most loyal users, defined
by their longevity on the platform. The task involves identifying the five oldest users
from the database, likely based on their account creation date. By finding and
rewarding these users, the marketing team can:
 Recognize loyal users to build emotional connections with the brand
leading to word-of-mouth promotion and greater trust in the
platform.
 Rewarding users who have been on the platform the longest provides
an opportunity for personalized rewards, such as exclusive offers.
 Highlighting the platform’s oldest users reflects Instagram’s longevity
and creates a positive image of the platform.
2. Inactive User Engagement:

Insights: The team wants to activate inactive users who have yet to post on
Instagram by sending targeted promotional emails. The goal is to identify users who have
never posted a single photo and prompt them to start engaging with the platform. Key
insights include:
 Promotional emails can offer incentives such as discounts or challenges to
encourage these users to make their first post.
 Identifying users with no posts allows marketing team to make strategies at
turning passive users into active ones.
 Successfully activating inactive users could increase their personal
engagement as well as the platforms user count.

3. Contest Winner Declaration:


Insights: The team has organized a contest where the user with the most likes on a single
photo wins. The task is to determine the winner based on their photo’s performance and
provide their details to the team. Key insights include:
 The user with the most liked photo represents a highly engaged audience.
This insight can inform future influencer collaborations strategies.
 Also the contest winner’s success serves as social proof of demonstrating the
value of an engaging content and also encourages other users to participate
in such events.
 The winner’s content can use as a promotional opportunity.

4. Hashtag Research:
Insights: A partner brand wants to maximize their post reach by using the most popular
hashtags on Instagram. Identifying the top five hashtags can help the brand improve
visibility and engagement. Key insights include:

 By using the most popular hashtags the brand can increase the probability of
appearing in more users feeds which enhance the post discoverability.
 Also the top hashtags usually represent the trending topics, by using this
topics the brand can stay relevant in the market.
 Popular hashtags attract more interactions in form of likes, comments and
shares allows the partner brand to build more engaged audience.

5. Ad Campaign Launch:
Insights: To maximize the effectiveness of an ad campaigns the team wants to identify the
best day of the week based on user registration patterns. Key insights include:
 Launching ads on days with higher user registration can increase the chances
of reaching new users.
 Understanding the particular day provides insight into user behaviour such as
when they are more likely to explore new content.
 The day with the highest user registration likely reflects when users are more
active that means it is the best time to launch ads for maximum interaction
and profitability.

Investor Metrics
1. User Engagement:

Insights: Calculating the average number of posts per user, along with the total number of
photos divided by the total number of users will help to get the platform’s overall
performance trend. Key insights include:
 By calculation the ratio of total photos to total users investors can better
understand the content volume to user base size.
 If the average number of posts per user is decreasing, it may points out a
trend towards passive use of the platform.
 High engagement and frequent posting are strong indications of the
platform’s value, which helps brands to increase their potential reach.

2. Bots & Fake Accounts:


Insights: Identifying users who have liked every single photo on the site is
crucial, as this behaviour is abnormal for genuine users. Key insights are:
 Users who have liked every photo on the platform demonstrate
behaviour that is highly suspicious and not real for a genuine user.
Identifying such accounts can help to remove those bot users.
 The presence of fake accounts can reduce trust in the platform,
removing those accounts will increase platform’s authenticity
which is important for real investors.

Result:
 Through this project I gained valuable insights about the
platforms pros and cons.
 After solving all those problems I get to understand the relevant
problems and their solutions what could happen in future on this
platform.
 Those insights helps me to understand how to do more effective
marketing strategies and content planning.
