The power of Miss Tic's street art

Miss Tic is a plastic artist and a poet. She's a figure that can't
be ignored of Street Art.
She develops a pictorial universe that she prints on Paris walls
since 1985.

In the 1980s, (nineteen- eighty's) Miss Tic's works were initially

considered as minor and illegal art. But over time, they have
been reclaimed in the fashion and film world.

With drawings of typical women and incisive sentences, her

creations talk of Liberty. Her works challenge the stereotypes of
the woman object. Miss Tic's words are full of subtlety,
sensuality and provocation. They are modern poems. She's
prolific and runs an online shop.

She is often compared to Banksy because she works with

stencils and spray paint, she delivers powerful messages to the
public, to everyone, and she is thought-provoking.

I chose two of her artworks :

I think these works should win the competition because they
are meaningful and philosophical. Even though the drawings
are quite simplistic, the sentences in these works are thought-
provoking. This woman represents the personality of Miss Tic.
She wants to highlight femininity, the sensuality of women and
the fact that they are the actors of their own lives. Miss Tic is
feminist, among other things because she gives a voice to all
women, whereas society often considers that their physical
appearance is enough and that they do not have to express
ideas. Moreover, these works are visible and accessible to all.

Picture 1-
“let's be happy while waiting for happiness.”
For me, this sentence means that we don't need happiness to
come to us to be happy, and that we can flourish in our work
and our daily lives whenever we want to. We don't need to wait
for joy to be offered to us on a big platter, we can also go and
look for it by ourselves in the small joyful events of our life, in
the joy of others. A little everywhere in fact.

Picure 2-
“Art harms stupidity.”
I think she's right because, according to her, her art is a tool to
make people think, while being aesthetically pleasing to catch
the eye. Moreover, art, at least for some, informs us of the
opinions of others and can sometimes make us question our
ideals.
Combining a thought-provoking sentence with a sensual
woman makes her work extremely powerful.
To conclude, I find that these drawings are eye-catching and in
harmony with the messages, which makes fhe meaning of the
artwork very understandable.

I urge you to search Miss Tic's artworks on Internet, to find the

one that will catch your sensibility the most.

So why not allow these works to win the competition ?
