Kit Contains:
1 – Floppy drive USB Emulator
1 – Emulator user guide
3 – USB Pendrives (other names: stick, flash drive, thumb drive …)
• Pendrive labeled with EMULATOR, it contains a free Standard version of WinImage
software’s (32 and 64 bits), miscellaneous files, drive & format configurations
• Spare blank Pendrive
• Requested and additional software’s are all loaded into one Pendrive.

Installation Notes and Advices:


• The Emulator will only take image files (.IMA & .IMG extensions)
• All non-image files need to be converted into image before loading.
• If your file name is more than 8 characters, it will be shorten and unreadable on the
Emulator LCD screen (see picture examples below).
Using your home or office computer, rename the file name to 8 characters or less
Example: File name is 208059580F.IMG

The LCD screen will show 208059~1.IMG

Rename it to SYSTEM-A (8 characters) or

Rename it to DISK-A (6 characters)

• You can put as many files that can be entered into the flash drive.
• Always backup your files
• All files that are created and or modified in the machine are saved into the image file
currently loaded into the Emulator.
• A blank 720KB and 1.44MB image files is provided with the kit.
• For Console-II Computer and Millennium machines, configure your Emulator as
Drive B and the system will recognize it as Drive A.

1. Turn Off Your machine.


2. Remove your old floppy disk drive
3. Install the Emulator drive in the same place by using the same connectors.
4 pin power connector (Red cable +5Vdc close to the data connector)
Do not invert 34 pin data cable connector
4. Power on your machine.
5. The display on your Emulator will show the following:

Loading USB Emulator Drive Configuration File .cfg
Remove the USB PENDRIVE (other names: stick, flash drive, thumb drive …)
Press OK for 5 seconds
MENU SETUP – Internal Disc (on screen)
Press DOWN 5 times
MENU SETUP – Custom Setup (on screen)
Press OK
CUSTOM SETUP – Load Config (on screen)
Press OK
Insert PENDRIVE (on screen)
Insert USB PENDRIVE (EMULATOR)
Media Detected ….
Select File
Press UP or DOWN to the file selected (see list of drives configuration below)
Press OK
Loading … (progress bar)
CUSTOM SETUP – Load Config (on screen)
Press ESC to return to the MENU SETUP – Customer setup

Loading a Disk

1. Insert the USB Pendrive (Labeled with your machine model) in the Emulator Drive.
Note: Don’t forget to rename the files to 8 character or less
2. Select the disk using the scroll keys up or down. i.e.: MACHINE-1.IMG, SYSTEM-A.IMG,
SYSTEM-B.IMG, DISK-A.IMG, DISK-B.IMG, ENGLISH.IMG, TECH.IMG, ETC. ….

This is an example file name

4. When the charging (loading in few seconds) is complete, the unit is ready to use.

5. At this point, the software is loaded into the Emulator drive memory.
6. Operate your machine as always. (Open a file, program, load some parameter, etc..)
7. Try to read some files from the “disk .ima or .img files” in the USB Pendrive. Perform reading
functions to test that it’s working correctly.

Tip: If you are not able to read/write any data from the USB Pendrive you can try to invert the 34
data cable.

Changing to another disk


1. Press ESC to eject the disk

Press ESC to eject the disk

2. The loaded software is remove out of the Emulator drive memory.


3. Select another disk using the scroll keys up or down. i.e.: DISK-B.IMA, TECH.IMG., ETC...
4. Then press OK.
5. Loading…. (wait for the progress bar to finish)
6. Now your disk is loaded in the Emulator drive memory and it is ready to use.
7. Use your machine like always. (Open a file, program; load some parameter, etc...)

How to create an image file from files using WinImage

Select the disk format (720 KB or 1.44 MB) that

click OK.

Note: If the Format selection screen don’t shows up


(picture on the left ), exit WinImage and try the other
WinImage shortcut

Note: The Emulator LCD screen can


only display up to 8 Characters, 9 and
more the file name will be shortened.

Change the file extension


Save as Type: Click down arrow
Select Image file: *.ima

Note: File extension .ima is


compatible with .img

A WinImage icon (CD or Floppy disk) is created with the file name
Double click the image file, the WinImage software will open and all the files in the file image will
show.

How to copy Part Programs from machine to USB flash drive and then to the PC
using the Blank IMG files (720K & 1.44 MB).
1. Copy the Blank Image file 720K or 1.44MB depending to the drive on a new formatted USB flash
drive.
2. Insert the USB flash drive into Emulator Drive.
3. Copy the selected program files (ISO, RBF, CMD…) into USB flash drive.
4. Using the WinImage software extract the program files from Image file, then drag and drop to
new location.

How to load communication software on Console–II Computer (p/n: 135017773)
Insert the Pendrive in the usb port of the Emulator.
Turn power on
Press and hold Load key
Message on the screen: Fatal error. system stopped.
Release Load key
Select file (Example: DISK-A) to be loaded by pressing UP or DOWN button on the Emulator
Press OK
Loading: wait for the progress bar to finish.
Press and hold the following keys: Crtl + Alt + Fn + Del then release all keys
Press and hold the Load key
The Emulator will start loading disk A
On Screen: CB08
Release Load Key
Message on Screen: Please insert Diskette: System B
Press ESC on your Emulator
Select file (Example: DISK-B) to be loaded by pressing UP or DOWN button on the Emulator
Press OK
Loading: wait for the progress bar to finish.
Wait for few seconds then the Emulator will start reading.
When done reading, turn power off
Turn power on
Press Load key
Message on the screen: Fatal error. system stopped.
Release Load key
Press ESC on your Emulator
Select file (disk C) to be loaded by pressing UP or DOWN button on the Emulator
Press OK
Loading: wait for the progress bar to finish.
Press and hold the following keys: Crtl + Alt + Fn + Del then release all keys
Press Load key
The Emulator will start loading disk C
On Screen: CB08
Release Load Key
When done reading, press Return / Enter key
Remove the Pendrive or press ESC button on the Emulator.
The computer will start loading communication software

Suggestion:
To eliminate the use of Crtl + Alt + Fn + Del keys and getting Fatal error. system stopped on the screen when
loading the communication software, you will need a separate 5 volt power supply and a floppy drive power adaptor
connector to constantly supply power to your Emulator, so that software can be pre-loaded before the computer
starts to boot up.

How to load communication software on Console–II Computer (Old Version)
Insert the Pendrive in the usb port of the emulator.
Turn power on
Press and hold Load key
Message on the screen: Fatal error. system stopped.
Release Load key
Select file (DISK-A) to be loaded by pressing UP or DOWN button on the emulator
Press OK
Loading: wait for the progress bar to finish.
Press and hold the following keys: Crtl + Alt + Fn + Del then release all keys
Press and hold the Load key
The emulator will start loading disk A
On Screen: CB08
Release Load Key
Message on Screen: Please insert Diskette: System B
Press ESC on your emulator
Select file (DISK-B) to be loaded by pressing UP or DOWN button on the emulator
Press OK
Loading: wait for the progress bar to finish.
Wait for few seconds then the emulator will start reading.
When done reading, remove the Pendrive or press ESC button on the emulator.
The computer will start loading communication software

Suggestion: To eliminate the use of Crtl + Alt + Fn + Del keys and getting Fatal error. system stopped on screen
when loading the communication software, you will need a separate 5 volt power supply and a floppy

Note: If the emulator will not read the second disk and or unable to do soft boot using these following keys
Crtl + Alt + Fn + Del, possible you have an old version computer console (see picture below).
The computer board is not compatible with the Emulator.
