Do’s
Always keep safety first while working in the plant.
Listen to the safety talk very carefully.
Participate actively in the safety talk
Before starting work on any equipment always ask the Engineer for lockout permit.
Always check that the supply is off before touching any electrical connection.
Use safety belt while working at some height.
Use proper ladder to work on height.
Always wear boiler suit and use all the PPEs when on the duty.
Use temperature gun for surface temperature monitoring.
If any bare cable is observed and not confirmed whether it is live or not, immediately inform to
engineer and check with his help.
Always clean the area after work is finished and throw the waste material at proper place.
Inform to your safety in charge if you see any unknown person in your area.
Always kept safety card with you and incase of the validity is getting over inform the supervisor
in charge a few days before.
IF you are going to attend any job and you feel that the job is unsafe but your engineer forcing
you to do it feel free and contact area in charge.
If any leave require inform to area in charge few days ago.
Always kept tool-kit with all the normal required tools on hand at the time of work.
Always kept your tool-kit complete.
Inform to shift in charge before going for inspection in some areas like transformer area
HT room etc.
Keep all panel doors, panel room doors and other restricted entry area closed in our area.
Always use hand trolley for transportation of heavy materials.
In case of any injury inform the safety in charge immediately.
Learn what has to be done in case of electrocution to self or colleague.
After removing any connection, always provide tape to the open ends of the cable.
Don’ts
Don’ts give electrical supply to the equipment like temporary Pumps, hand machine tools,
welding machines etc. without matching its rated current with the protective device used in the
feeder.
Do not wear loose clothing like shawl, muffler etc. which may catch in rotating parts of machine.
Do not wear ornaments like ring, chains, loose watches etc while working on electrical panels,
apparatus.
Do not give any hand tool connection without RCCB protection.
Do not use broken/damaged wires with multimeter / megger.
Do not lift heavy material by hand, use cranes, hoists etc.
Do not lay cable for temporary connection on the floor such that it crosses the walk way.
Do not use damage tools while working on any equipment.
Do not start any work without the instruction of the electrical shift in charge.
Do not leave any waste materials at work place like cloths, cable pieces, insulation tape etc.
Do not make connection to any portable equipment without a plug top.
Do not use line tester for power supply checking.
Do not touch any electrical part with wet hand/cloths.
Do not use mobile phones in shop area.
Do not operate any panel button in operational area. Take help of operator for operating any
machine/equipment of production area.
