ABSTRACT

1. Title of the Project:

Smart Autonomous Vehicle
2. Description about Project
The Smart Autonomous Vehicle project is designed to develop a robot car capable of navigating
autonomously in a controlled environment by integrating key functionalities such as obstacle detection,
line following, and traffic sign recognition. Utilizing ultrasonic sensors for measuring distances, the vehicle
can detect obstacles and respond by stopping, reversing, or altering its path to avoid collisions, emulating
advanced driver-assistance systems. Infrared (IR) sensors enable line following by detecting contrasting
colors on the ground, allowing the vehicle to maintain its course along a designated path. Additionally, an
ESP32-CAM captures images for traffic sign recognition, enabling the vehicle to identify and respond to
various signs such as stop and yield by adjusting its speed and direction. The implementation involves
assembling the robot chassis, connecting sensors and components, and programming the microcontroller
to manage the vehicle’s behavior based on sensor inputs. This project not only enhances understanding of
robotics and automation but also provides valuable hands-on experience in electronics, programming, and
computer vision, making it an ideal undertaking for final-year Electronics and Communication Engineering
students. By merging theoretical concepts with practical applications, the project prepares students for
future career opportunities in the rapidly evolving fields of autonomous systems and smart technologies.
3. Expected outcome:
1.Autonomous Navigation: Successfully develop a robot car that can navigate autonomously by avoiding
obstacles, following paths, and recognizing traffic signs.

2.Skill Enhancement: Gain hands-on experience in programming, circuit design, and sensor integration,
enhancing technical skills and understanding of robotics principles.
