Front end
Our front end utilizes hundreds of simultaneous experiments to better understand our
customers - so we can build features and tweak algorithms to help them book. This is where
sociology meets a virtual science lab.

Flights
Our newest business is truly one of the most exciting product areas, a start-up within Agoda
itself! We are investing big in growing beyond our core business of accommodation and build-
ing a world-leading flight product, dynamic packages, and new verticals. This is a core part of
our strategy to become a one stop shop for travel.

Engagement/Customer Services
We build state of the art systems like chat bot, self-service tools and more using experimentation
and machine learning that help millions of our customers find what they need and help support
agents be more efficient.

Fintech
FinTech is responsible for enforcing the financial aspect of bookings and accurately reporting
results. This ranges from accepting customer payments and paying our suppliers, to reconciling
expectations against bank records and potentially collecting money owed to Agoda.

Marketing
Marketing is a data-centric org constantly looking to innovate across both paid and direct
marketing channels. Products managed here include Loyalty, Customer Marketing, Pricing, and
SEO. Machine learning and data science are some of the many levers we use to create new
products and optimize existing ones.

The Hiring Process


During this phase, we will identify which position and product vertical you are most suited for
– this will depend on your experience, competencies, interest, and where you will have the
most impact. Each interview lasts one hour including an introduction, behavioral questions,
case studies, and a QGA session.

What are we looking for?


1) Analytical Critical Thinking
We will test your critical thinking and ability to leverage data.

2) Product Values
We are looking for a candidate who thinks like a scientist, has Intellectual curiosity,
is an agent of change, and is obsessed with business value. Do you know which data
to look at to generate actionable insights? Do you make data-driven decisions?
Are your assumptions clearly stated?

3) Leadership
We will test your leadership style. Do you see a 360 view - the vision, objective, risks,
and the steps needed to execute? Do you think big? Are you able to explain projects
holistically end-to-end?

What questions do we ask across interviews?


During the interview, we use case studies to assess your ability to tackle problems and
come up with solutions. Below are examples of what we would like to see in your approach.

1) Scientific Approach
Focus on how well you structure your answer and how well you analyze data effec-
tively in order to back up decisions, hypotheses, and roadmap. How well you find
evidence and use data to challenge assumptions and correct the team’s direction.

2) Ownership and Execution


Focus on how well you execute within your core responsibilities and how well you
understand and take ownership of end-to-end business outcomes.

3) Communication
Be prepared to deliver the message effectively and focus on being concise and clear
when communicating. Feel free to gather your thoughts in order to structure your
approach to problem-solving challenges.
