Chapter 14

1. What is the most likely reason Flora Baumbach's hood


flew up in the middle of traffic? Angela had checked under
it, but didn't push it all the way back.

2. Angela Wexler is the bomber in The Westing Game.

3. Angela Wexler is the bomber, but her sister, Turtle,


confesses to the bombings to protect Angela and prevent
anyone from knowing that Angela was the real bomber.

The four bombs


In The Westing Game, the four bombs that explode in
three different Sunset Towers . The bombs explode in the
following locations:
1. The first bomb : Chapter 12: In the kitchen of the
Theodorakis family's coffee shop, making a large
mess but essentially injuring no one.

2. The second bomb : Shortly after: In the kitchen of


Hoo's restaurant, Shin Hoo's, This time Sydelle
Pulaski (Angela's partner) is minorly injured.

3. The third bomb : Chapter 16: In Angela wedding


shower in the Wexler's apartment, . It is hidden
among the presents at Angela Wexler's wedding
shower, and goes off in her face, sending her to the
hospital with a facial cut that will leave a scar and
burned hands.

4. The fourth bomb: Chapter 21: In the elevator in


Sunset Towers, The final bomb goes off in the
elevator with Turtle inside, singing one of her braids
and causing pain "too great to be put into words"
(129). This one is set by Turtle, and she confesses
to it. Her motive is to take the blame (for all the
bombs) so that no one suspects her sister Angela.
1. Grace Wexler: wants to rename Mr. Hoo's
restaurant to "Hoo's on First".

2. Sydelle Pulaski: fractured her ankle as a result of


the second bomb.

3. Flora Baumbauch: reveals that she created a


wedding gown for Violet Westing

4. Theo Theodorakis: has a bit of a crush on Angela


Wexler

5. James Shin Hoo: shows a harsh attitude toward


his son

6. Otis Amber: keeps yelling "Boom!"

7. Denton Deere: specializes in plastic surgery so is


unable to help with Chris's condition

8. Sandy McSouthers: refuses any more tips from J.J.


Ford.

9. Angela Wexler: the likely bomber

10. Violet Westing: killed herself to avoid marrying


someone she was not in love with.

11. Grace: "Don't you think you're rather hard on


the boy"

12. Sandy: "I got fired from the Westing plant for
trying to organize the union, but mostly I boxed"

13. Angela: "Turtle, tell me the truth. How bad is


it?"

14. Angela: "The doctor says your disease is


incurable, but you should have a remission lasting
five years, even more, if you take good care of
yourself and don't overdue it."
15. Demeaning: With a sickly fake and ---- smile,
Eliza told her daughter that she was not smart
enough to become a doctor.

16. Petrified: I stood ---- as the most enormous dog


I'd ever seen approached me and began sniffing
at my legs.

17. Resembled: The three-year-old boy clearly ----


his father, with the same brown hair and hazel
eyes.

18. Despondently: "it's hopeless," Decklan moaned


---- upon seeing that his flight was delayed yet
again.

19. Capable: The high school English teacher was


surprised that some of her students were not
