Developmental and social factors

- This domain refers to students’ previous experiences and learning
readiness (i.e., developmental factors) as well as interpersonal
relations between and among students and teachers or facilitators
(i.e., social factors) that affect current learning.
- According to the principles in this domain, students have different
previous learning experiences and opportunities and are at different
developmental levels in the intellectual, emotional, physical, and
social development.
- Activities that account for these differences between and within
students are more effective. Furthermore, learning is influenced by
students’ positive interactions and personal relationships with other
students and relevant adults.

1. Developmental influence on learning

o As individuals develop, they encounter different opportunities
and experience different constraints for learning.
o Learning is most effective when differential development
within and across physical, intellectual, emotional, and social
domains is taken into account.
Developmental Factors:

or negative.

• Parental Involvement
It is an influenced by parents or all older than child. Parental involvement is as
the participation of parents in the educational process and experience of their
children (Wilder, 2013). More precisely, parental involvement refers to the
“proactive engagement of parents in various activities and behaviors that aim
to promote learning and development of their children” (Ma et al., 2016: 773).
Different studies have demonstrated the benefit of parental involvement on
student achievement (e.g., Ma et al., 2016), social-emotional skills (Van Voorhis
et al., 2013), well-being, and mental health (Hornby and Blackwell, 2018).

collaborate with others on instructional aspects. A social interaction is an event
that occurs between two or more individuals. They each use culturally
approved methods to communicate certain things or perform appropriate
actions. Information is exchanged as a result of social interaction. Social
interactions occur every day, and they can even occur without us knowing,
such as when we or others use nonverbal communication to express ourselves
to others.

each member of the relationship affecting the other member over time.
Maccoby (1984) discussed at length the effect of child development on
directionality. Maccoby highlighted the role of such developmental factors as
physical growth, language development, conceptions of others, and
autonomy in children's interactions with their parents. As they develop,
children become better able to communicate with family members and

become increasingly aware of others’ points of view, as well as becoming
