MODULE 1: LESSON 1
A Tale of Two Time Worlds
“It’s up to you to decide what type of life you want to live.”
— MARIE FORLEO
Lesson Recap
Becoming a Time Genius is an inside-out job. The objective of this Fun Sheet
is to help you examine your current time story and beliefs, and identify where
you’re operating in the world of Time Stress so you can embrace the world of
a Time Genius.
• In the toxic world of Time Stress, you’re pulled in a zillion directions —
constantly scattered, distracted, overwhelmed, stressed, and depressed
by ALL THE THINGS you’re supposed to do.
• Americans are on screens for over 10 hours a day. The average person
spends 3 hours on email alone, and we check our phone once every
10 minutes. We’re on track to spend nearly 44 of our years starting at
screens! This hyperconnected pace is simply unsustainable.
• Research shows the stress and overwhelm of it all is taking a devastating
toll on our mental health and well-being. 90% of illnesses are either
caused or worsened by chronic stress. Cell phones are damaging
romantic relationships and leading to higher levels of depression. It’s a
public health crisis.

• But — good news! — living in the Toxic World of Time Stress is optional.
You can take back your power and opt-out of this madness starting now.
• Time Genius will show you how to leave that toxic world of Time Stress
behind for good. You’ll learn how to focus on what matters most, ignore what
doesn’t, and keep making meaningful, joyful progress towards your dreams.
• There are key thinking and behavioral distinctions between being stuck in
Time Stress and being a Time Genius, the central one being, “There’s just
never enough time,” versus, “There’s always enough time for what’s most
important.”
• Taking control of your time mindset is the first non-negotiable step for
success.

1 Discover Which World You Live In
Let’s take a look at a few of the key thinking and behavioral distinctions
between being stuck in the world of Time Stress vs. being a Time Genius.
S T E P 1 : Read the statements below, and put a “1” in the column next to the
statement that most closely aligns with your current thoughts and beliefs.
If neither statement resonates, you can leave it blank. But try not to get hung
up on the specific language — this is a binary exercise by design. The point
here is to get a better idea of which world we’re operating in. Then, if it’s not
the world we want, we have simple, clear steps to make a change.

TIME GENIUS TRUTH:
What often matters more than the activity we’re doing at
any given moment is how we feel about it.

FUN SHEET
Ultimately, time is an emotional experience. Remember my example of
getting stuck in traffic? I’ve had two very different outcomes and experiences
of the same event: seething and stressed vs. relaxed and go-with-the-flow.
Think back to a time when you felt two drastically different ways about the
same situation. Really put yourself in the moment. Close your eyes if it helps.
Now describe, in detail, your experience when you approached this situation
with a Time Stress mindset. What thoughts were running through your head?
How did you feel in your body? Did your behavior affect others? What was
going on emotionally? What was the ultimate outcome?

FUN SHEET
Now recall a time when you approached the exact same situation from a
positive mindset. What were your thoughts? How did you feel differently —
physically, emotionally? Did others react differently to you? What was the
ultimate outcome?
Guess what? In that second scenario, you were in the Time Genius Zone.
It may have happened by chance… but in this program, you’ll learn how to
actively choose a productive and joyful experience of time so you can live
that way on purpose, all the time.
