___________________________________________________________
The two novels by Dr. Jose P. Rizal, our country's national hero. The
two books are based on events that he noticed and observed in our
nation, with the intention of informing Filipinos about what is going on
there. The two great novels also assisted the Filipinos in their fight for
their nation, complete freedom, and the recognition of their rights by
describing how the Spaniards oppressed the Filipinos and how the church
used its power against them. First, despite depicting the sufferings of the
Filipino people under Spanish rule, the love story or romantic novel Noli
Me Tangere, which translates to "Touch Me Not," is full of life, color,
humor, and wit. Noli Me Tangere is also dedicated to our motherland,
calling on the Filipinos to reclaim their self-worth, recognize their own
value, return to their ancestral heritage, and assert themselves as the
equal of the Spaniards. And El Filibusterismo, also known as "The Reign of
Greed," is a political book dedicated to the three martyred priests Mariano
Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora, also known as "GOMBURZA,"
whose tragic execution left an indelible impression on Dr. Rizal. It contains
bitterness, hatred, pain, sorrow, and violence. El Filibusterimo also seeks
to educate society, bringing Filipinos closer to the truth and society that
urged them to rebel against the oppressive and abusive Spanish
government. While El Filibusterismo by Dr. Jose Rizal is ruthless in
denouncing Spanish corruption, greed, exploitation, and injustice, he is no
less hard in denouncing Filipino corruption, greed, self-righteousness,
hypocrisy, and cowardice, which share in or permit Spanish abuses. Noli
Me Tangere by Dr. Jose Rizal urges us to consider our actions and beliefs
for our country.

Noli Me Tangere by Dr. Jose Rizal is unquestionably a masterpiece of
literature. As we delve deeper into the novel's plot and storyline, it
becomes clear that this particular work of his is a social and political
satire. The novel accurately captures the pre- and post-history
sociopolitical environment and conflict in the Philippines. The fictional
characters have a strong resemblance to those who live in our current
society. The author carefully selected the characters and their
personalities to represent each and every level of Spanish colonial society
in the Philippines. The characters of Fr. were excellent examples of how
the church and its clergymen oppressed people and practiced bigotry. Fr.
Damaso and Mr. Salvi. Kapitan Tiago or Santiago de los Santos, Maria
Clara's father, is the best example of the idea that wealthy Indio’s can
influence a society of elitists by hosting lavish parties and gatherings.

the brutality of El Alferez, the head of the constabulary guards, toward the
locals. With regard to El Filibusterismo, Juan Crisostomo Ibarra has
assumed the identity of wealthy jeweler Simoun. He travels the world
invisibly accumulating wealth, which he plans to use to overthrow the
oppressive and corrupt government in his home country. However,
Simoun's true motivation is personal. He wants to free Maria Clara from
the convent and exact revenge for the death of his father. On Christmas
Eve, Basilio, a medical student, discovers Simoun's true identity as a man
who assisted in the burial of his mother Sisa under a tree more than ten
years prior. To retrieve the gems, he buried them close to Sisa's grave,
Simoun is in the forest. The plotters' scheme fails when all of the secrets
and intrigues are made public. The impact of El Filibusterismo is to
awaken the eyes of the Filipinos, to exact revenge against the Spaniards,
just for peace and to get back freedom. A good Filipino priest throws
Simoun's jewels away, eliminating the greed, violence, and other evils
they might have provoked. to demonstrate the mistreatment of Filipinos
by the Spanish. governmental systems' effects on how we live. How
religious organizations influenced Filipinos by using their influence. El
filibusterismo also drives the Filipinos to rebel and fight against the
Spanish authorities' hatred of them.
To conclude, Rizal was able to address and attack the flaws and
cancer of society, both old and new, in his novel. Many people were

moved by this writing and their consciousness was raised to a level that
the colonial masters had not anticipated. As a result, the cause of
nationhood identity changed the course of history and even sparked a
revolution. As a matter of opinion, we could say that the Noli Me Tangere
serves as a Bible for the real state of society. Much less it lays out the
issue and the broken system of our contemporary Philippine society, Noli
Me Tangere depicts stories and passages that still exist today, much like
the Holy Bible of the Christian. The novel's theme, which encourages
nationalism and the acceptance of change in ourselves, is still relevant to
us today. By upholding the law, promoting Philippine culture, and realizing
the country's true objective by cooperating with one another to improve it,
we must patronize our nation. It instills in us the virtues of wisdom,
standing up for what is right, and love for our nation. This book is being
taught in schools so that future generations will learn to love their country
and become the agents of change for it, preventing us from repeating the
mistakes of the past. For El Filibusterismo, as a student and teen, this
novel brings lessons and realizations in life. No matter how old it is, or
how out-of-date, we can still relate ourselves and the present occurrences
to the things that happened in the novel during Spanish colonization.
Being a true Filipino is what Jose Rizal wants us to be. Knowing who we
are and what is our true goals will make the country flourish. Although we
are no longer held captive, we are still unable to see the true nature of our
government because many of its members are selfish liars who oppose
what they portray to the general public. Dr. Jose Rizal, we believe, wants
us to understand that while revolution is not the answer, it can move us
closer to achieving our independence. A peaceful conflict is a good way to
resolve a conflict because no one will be killed. Similar to today, protests
and peacefully asserting one's rights and demands can open some
people's eyes. Our nation must change, and during election seasons we
must exercise wisdom lest we waste our time, money, and confidence in
our leader.
