Dear DrMs. Jane Graham,
Thank you forI am writing to request a workplace assessment about the case offor my
patient Mr Barry Jones, who would like to comego back/return to work, afterfollowing a
severe lower back injury which occurred 2 3 months ago.
He is hurtedhurt his back lifting a heavy box, but he did not rest immediately rest.
After 4 days, he underwent an RX-ray, which ruled out any disc lesion. The pain did
getgot worse, thus he stopped working and started a physiotherapy program.
Medication for pain relief was also prescribed.
Throughout these 3 months, Mr Jones has been progressively recovering, despite
some persistent stiffness and pain: recovered his condition, length ofhe is now walking
for 30 minutes per day and his range of movement (ROM) is improving, despite some
stiffness persists. Today, he still has some pain, particularly after 20-30 minutes of
sitting or lying down.
I feel that MsMr. Jones could gradually come backreturn to work, avoiding lifting and
taking a break at regular intervals. In the meantime, he will continue the rehabilitation
program.
Considering that he is now becoming discouraged about his and restless, I would be
grateful for your assessment of the workplace, forpending his return.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any enquiries.
Your sincerely,
Dr. Marta Bandini
