LESSON PLAN IN TLE AUTOMOTIVE 9

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to:
a. Identify and classify different hand tools according to their use and function;
b. Demonstrate proper preparation, selection, and use of hand tools for specific tasks,
and
c. Appreciate the value of using proper and well-maintained hand tools for efficiency
and safety.

Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Projector, Laptop
Reference: Grade 9 Automotive Module
Method: Lecture- Discussion
III. PROCEDURE:

A. Preliminary activities

 Checking of Attendance
 Setting Standard

B. MOTIVATION:
ACTIVITY 1: JUMBLED LETTER
The teacher will show jumbled letter.
The teacher will call (8) eight students in the front.
The task of the students they will look for the word.
HANDTOOL
The eight students will work as a group to arrange the jumbled letters.
The arranged word will be serve as the lesson.
The students will be given 2 to 3 minutes to perform and complete the task.
The teacher will call 2 to 3 students to explain or give their ideas about the arranged word.

C. ABSTRACTION:
Prepare Hand Tools
The teacher will discuss preparing hand tools, emphasizing their critical role in
making tasks more efficient and less labor-intensive. The proper selection and preparation
of tools, tailored to the task's requirements, ensure effective results while minimizing effort
and time. Knowledge of tools, including their types, quality, and condition, is essential for
efficient work, whether in simple repairs or advanced tasks like automotive maintenance.
Tools must be suitable for the job to avoid potential damage or injury, and constant practice
enhances skill in selecting the right tool for each task.

Hand tools are categorized based on their specific functions, including cleaning tools
like brushes and scrapers, cutting tools like chisels and hacksaws, and driving tools like
hammers and screwdrivers. Other categories include loosening and tightening tools such
as wrenches, marking tools like scribers and center punches, and measuring tools like
calipers and torque wrenches. Each category serves a unique purpose, and understanding
their use is vital for completing tasks efficiently and safely. Proper preparation of these tools
not only supports timely task completion but also ensures safety and precision in the work
performed.
D. APPLICATION:
Activity:

 Divide students into groups and provide them with a list of automotive tasks (e.g., "clean a
car battery," "tighten a spark plug").
 Each group selects the appropriate tools and demonstrates their preparation and use for
the assigned task.
 Observe proper handling and usage of tools.

E. GENERALIZATION:
1. What is/are the importance of the different hand tools in a working environment
especially in Computer System Servicing?
2. What happen if hand tools are not present nowadays? Why?

F. EVALUATION:
In a ½ crosswise, the students will answer the formativetest.
Modified TRUE or FALSE, write T if the given definition or statement is correct and write F
if the given definition or statement is incorrect then change the word or phrase that make
the given statement incorrect.

loosen slotted screws and linear notch.
_________ 5. A flat head screwdriver or known as the cross-head screwdriver, usedto tighten or
loosen cross-headed screws.
_________ 6. A torx screwdriver is a tool with a screw head characterized by a 6 point star
shaped pattern, hex lobular internal.

G. ASSIGNMENT:
Research the following 15 hand tools being discussed, then find the origin(When, Where, and
Who) invented the different hand tools. Write your answerin a 1 whole sheet of paper.
