Pipelines for transportation of petroleum hydrocarbons ( crude oil /
gas / petroleum products etc. ) are hydrostatically tested for their
integrity before commissioning. Water available locally or from
nearby source is used as hydraulic fluid into the pipeline. It is left in
the pipeline under specified period of time ( 15, 30, 60 days or
more upto 6 months). During testing, the pipeline should remain
free from corrosion ( both electrochemical as well as
microbiologically induced corrosion ).
The water, ( tap water / bore well water / sea water ) used for
hydrotesting, being saturated with oxygen poses the problem of
electrochemical and microbiologically induced corrosion, due to
Sulphate Reducing Bacteria ( SRB ) as well as aerobic bacteria,
resulting in the blackening and breakdown of the inner surface of
the pipeline. Hence it is necessary to treat such water with suitable
chemical additives at optimum dosage to mitigate corrosion and
microbial activities during test period.
Navdeep Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., after intensive in house R & D, has
developed a product named Nevamine Hydro TCI, which is a
blend of Corrosion Inhibitors, Biocide ,Oxygen Scavenger,&
Dispersant for hydrotesting. While ensuring the performance, this
product is eco-friendly and will not pose problem of disposal after
completion of hydrotesting.
Specifications :
Appearance : Pale yellow to yellow coloured liquid.
pH (as such) : Acidic, however at recommended dosage levels
pH of hydro test water will not be acidic.

Directions For Use :
Nevamine Hydro TCI is dosed into the hydrotest water (including the make up
water) when the water is being charged into the pipelines. The recommended
dose of Nevamine Hydro TCI will vary depending upon the quality of water ( e.g.
pH, molar alkalinity, dissolved oxygen, dissolved Carbon dioxide, total dissolved
solid content (TDS) , total halide content , etc.) being used and the hydrotest
period. For this, please refer to the section on “Recommended Doses”.
Performance data
In the laboratory and pilot hydrotesting studies using bore well, tap water,
sea-water, and brackish water, it has been found that the product Nevamine
Hydro TCI controls the electrochemical and microbiologically induced corrosion
within the desired levels specified when the recommended doses are applied.
Recommended Doses
In case of hydrotesting using bore well, tap water, brackish water and sea-water,
the recommended dosages of the product Nevamine Hydro TCI are as follows
to maintain an effective control against electrochemical and microbiologically
induced corrosion.

N.B. : It is recommended to use proper dose for the system to be used for
hydrotesting.

Packing
50 / 100 / 200 litres HMHDPE Containers.
Handling
The containers should be opened with caution & this must be done under
conditions of good ventilation. Care should be taken to prevent any contact with
skin & any other parts of the body. In case of contact with skin, wash with plenty
of water. Use of rubber gloves & goggles are recommended while handling the
product.
