9/19/24 - Three different kinds of audiences I would consider if I were writing a guide for a new

phone would be the elderly to inform them. Teenagers to make them interested and kids to
make it look fun.
9/20/24 - Some common needs or expectations that a technical document audience might have
might be the document to have credible information. Another expectation there might be is for
the information to be in correct order.
9/23 - Situations that you would need to adjust your writing style for different audiences would
be depending on your audience’s age group. For example if you are targeting a younger crowd
you would need to seem more laid back to suit them. On the other hand if your audience is older
you would want to use a more professional tone.
9/24 - Laypeople are people who may not be experienced in that specific area. Strategies you
can use to make technical content more accessible would be using links that are easy to
navigate. You can also give specific instructions on what they need to do.
9/25 - Layreader- a layperson authorized to conduct parts of the church services not requiring a
priest or minister(Helps you perceive important messages) Technician-a specialist in the
technical details of a subject or occupation(They help to install and repair things) Expert- a
person who has a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of or skill in a particular
area(They inform you on things you may not be knowledgeable on) Manager-an individual with
leadership skills tasked with leading, planning, staffing, and organizing an organization(they
guide you in the right direction
9/26 - The use of technical jargon might affect the use of accessibility in the document because
the reader may not recognize all of the words used. For example if someone in college wrote an
exclamation about something and a middle schooler read it they would most likely have trouble
recognizing it.
9/30 - It is important to document your sources in technical writing because you want the person
reading it to know the source is credible. What could happen if you don’t is someone reading it
and they think it isn’t credible because there are no source links.
10/01 - What I use to take effective notes from a source is to look for the key words I need to
remember. I prefer digital because with digital I can look at it through my phone. In fact about
42K people die from the disease.
10/02 - I think that the biggest difference between researching for a school project and
conducting research in a professional setting is that the research for a professional would be
more thorough and the school project would be more lenient. A fact is men can get breast
cancer too.
10/03 - The way i would differentiate a primary and a secondary source is that a primary source
is straight from the event a secondary source is the second hand telling of the event. An
example of a primary source would be someone who just watched fireworks up close and a
secondary source would be the person who heard about the fireworks.
10/07 - Plagiarism - the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as
one's own.(Paraphrasing), Scope - the extent of the area or subject matter that something deals
with or to which it is relevant.(Project Rubric), Archives - a collection of historical documents or
records providing information about a place, institution, or group of people.(Artwork), Primary
Audience - the target audience for your particular product or service.(parents buying toys for
their children)
10/08 - Three examples of periodicals are Magazines, newspapers, and journals. A fact is your
weight can determine if you get it.
10/09 - The difference between paraphrasing and summarizing is that paraphrasing is when you
reword something and summarizing is when you condense the material. A fact is it doesn’t
always come in the form of a lump.
10/10 - A situation where I would prefer a primary source over a secondary source would be if I
was trying to know what a teacher said in class a day I was absent. I say this because I would
want to know from someone who was in the class so I can know for sure.
10/11 - It is important to include a variety of sources in your technical research so that the
reader can know your information is credible. This can enhance your writing by making it look
more professional and trustworthy.
10/17 - A place where people can go to gather firsthand facts, data, and evidence from letters,
reports, notes, memos, photographs, and other primary sources an example is computer files
10/21 - It is important to keep track of your sources and citations so that you know where your
evidence comes from. You can make a text cited page to keep track of the information. Breast
cancer awarness month is in october.
10/22 - Ethical consideration you should keep in mind should be does it respect the topic or
group and give them a fair side. You can ensure it is ethical by looking over it. Men can also get
breast cancer
10/23 - Creating an outline before finding your research findings can clarify it by making sure
your information is credible and fits the topic. You should include the topic your research needs
to follow. Breast cancer doesn’t always come in the form of a lump
10/24 - You can ensure that your research is thorough and comprehensive by making sure the
sources you get the information from are credible. When I research I look up the topic and then
find a source that looks credible and has a trustworthy publisher. Maintaining your weight can
decrease your chance of breast cancer
10/28 - Ethical concerns related to your research topic are does it respect the crowd. I plan to
address this by stating how the author supports and gives evidence for both sides. Breast
cancer is the 2nd leading factor in death of women.
10/29 - My research can be applied to the real world by using the ethics the reader follows and
applying them to my life
10/30 - Skills I believe are essential for success are the ability to find solutions. I also think
another important skill is to be able to see things from different viewpoints.
11/6 - Qualities I think make a good interviewer are the ability to speak clearly and
professionally. I think a good interviewer also needs to have the ability to see through different
people's viewpoints.
11/7 - A time I felt nervous before an interview was when I had to do one for my first job. I
overcame this by remembering what to say and practicing my professionalism.
11/8 - Some common mistakes I think candidates make are not having a professional tone. I
think they could also lack a professional uniform.
11/12 - The most important question I think an interviewer should ask is ‘why do you want this
job’. I say this because they should know your intentions with the job.
11/14 - I prepare for an interview by practicing how I will speak during it. The strategies I would
use are to be clear and use formal language.
11/15 - The environment I would create for both a formal and an informal interview is a clear
professional environment. I would do this by using formal language.
11/21 - I would say my interview went well overall but there are still things I need to work on. A
strength of the class would be being able to speak clearly and a weakness would be fidgeting.
