1. Find the coordinates of the midpoint of the straight line joining the
points B (3,7) and A(5,9). [ANS:The coodinates of the midpoint is ( 4, 8)]
2. Find the coordinates of the midpoint of the straight line joining the
points C (4, - 2) and D (-6, 9) [ANS:The coodinates of the midpoint is ( -1, 3.5)]

3. If (- 3, 7) is the mid – point of AB, where A is (4, - 4),


find the coordinates of B. [ANS:B( – 10, 18)]

4. If (- 2, 1) is the mid – point of DC, where D is (– 3 , 2),


find the coordinates of C. [ANS:C( – 1, 0)]

5. Calculate the distance between M(8, -9) and N ( - 11, 2). [ANS: Distance of MN = 21.95 units]

6. Calculate the distance between P(7, 13) and Q ( 2, 1). [ANS: Distance of PQ = 13 units]

7. Find the equation of the lie with gradient 2 passing through the point (5, 3).

13. The line y = 2x + 3 intersects the y-axis at A. the points B and C on this line are such that
AB = BC. The line through B perpendicular to AC passes through the point D (-1, 6).

i. The equation of BD [ANS: Equation of BD is x + 2y = 11]

14. In the figure below is a quadrilateral ABCD in which A is (2, 8). The point C lies on the
perpendicular bi sector of AB and the point D lies on the y-axis. The equation of BC is
3y = 4x – 14 and angle DAB = 90 . Find
