1. This question paper contains five Sections A, B, C, D and E. Each Section is compulsory.
However, there are internal choices in some questions.
2. Section A has 18 multiple choice questions (MCQs) and two Assertion-Reason based
questions of 1 mark each.
3. Section B has 5 very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 2 marks each.
4. Section C has short answer (SA) type questions carrying 3 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 long answer (LA) type questions carrying 5 marks each.

have got Rs.1028. Find the cost price of saree and the marked price of the sweater.

the snake caught?
OR
A piece of cloth costs Rs.200. If the piece was 5 m longer and each metre of cloth costed Rs.2
less, then cost of cloth would have remained unchanged. How long is the piece and what is
the original rate per metre?

34. Two rectangular sheets of dimensions 45 cm X 155 cm are folded as malice hollow right
circular cylindrical pipes, such that there is exactly 1 cm of overlap when sticking the ends of
the sheet. Sheet 1 is folded along its length, while Sheet 2 is folded along its width. That is
the __ edge of the sheet is joined with its bottom edge in both the sheets as depicted by the
arrow in the figure below. Both pipes are closed on both ends to form cylinders.

14 lead shots each of radius 2 cm are packed in a cuboidal box of internal dimensions 18 cm
X 8cm X 6 cm and then the box is filled with water. Find volume of water filled in the box.

SECTION-E
This Section comprises of three case study/ passage based questions of 4 marks
each. First two case study questions have three sub parts (i), (ii) and (iii) of marks
1, 1 and 2 respectively. The third case study question has two sub parts of 2 marks
each.
36. We can determine whether a quadrilateral placed on coordination plane is a parallelogram
or not. In coordinate geometry, distance formula and mid point formula are enough to show
that quadrilateral placed on coordinate axes is a parallelogram or not. If vertices of triangle
are given then using distance formula we can find length of sides of triangle, e.g. ABCD is a
quadrilateral placed on coordinate axes as shown
Answer the questions based on above:
(i) If A(2, 3), B(4, 6), C(7, 4) and D(a, b) are the vertices of a quadrilateral, such that
diagonals AC and BD intersects each other at O. If O is mid point of AC and BD then find
the value of a and b.
(ii) Three vertices of a parallelogram taken in order are (0, 3), (0, 0) and (5, 0), then find the
fourth vertex.
(iii) If P(5, 2), Q(2, -2) and R(2, y) are vertices of a right-angled triangle where ∠ Q =900 then
find y.
OR
Three vertices of a rectangle AOBC are A(0, 3), O(0, 0), B(5, 0), then find the length of
diagonals AB and OC.
37. India is competitive manufacturing location due to the low cost of manpower and strong
technical and engineering capabilities contributing to higher quality production runs. The
production of TV sets in a factory increases uniformly by a fixed number every year. It
produced 16000 sets in 6th year and 22600 in 9th year.
Based on the above
information, answer the following questions
(i) Find the production in the first year
(ii) In which year the production will be 29200?
(iii) Find the difference of the production during 7th year and 4th year.
OR
Find the difference between 12th year and first year.
38. Point A is the position of jet fighter flying in the sky. The angle of elevation of point A
from ground is shown. After 15 seconds, the jet fighter moves in direction AP and reaches at
point P. The angle of elevation of point P on the ground is shown (Assume that fighter is
flying at the constant height above the ground)
Based on the above information, answer the
following questions
(i) What is the distance of AP, if jet is flying with speed 720 km/h in 15 seconds?
(ii) If the jet is flying at the speed of 360 km/h then find the distance covered in 15
seconds.
(iii) If the jet is flying at a speed of 720 km/h then find the constant height at which it
is flying
