ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT
Rationale
November, as National Children’s Month has been made official by
Republic Act No. 10661 signed by the late Benigno Aquino III in 2015. The
declaration commemorates the adoption of the Convention on the Rights
of the Child by United Nations General Assembly on November 20, 1989.
The Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher
Education (CHED) were tasked with facilitating and encouraging the
commemoration in all public and private schools nationwide.
The 2015 National Baseline Study on Violence Against Children
(NBS-VAC) revealed that most of Filipino children experience and are
vulnerable to physical, psychosocial, and sexual violence in any setting
but it is significantly high in the home. A disturbing 3 in 5 children suffer
one or two forms of violence at home, while parents and other members
of the family are often the perpetrators of the abuse.
The Cecilia National High School aims to stimulate advocacy and
public information on upholding child rights. Specifically, it aims to:
Intensify public awareness on children’s rights and knowledge,
adequate care for children, and application of positive discipline in
daily dealings with children;
Promote further of the institutionalization of a Child-friendly
environment and governance by promoting implementation and
monitoring of child-related protocols at school and in the
community.
Empower the children as rights-holders to claim and protect their
rights; and
Equip the duty bearers to deliver their commitment and fulfill their
obligations to protect children and fulfill rights of children.
Title of the Activity: 2022 Children’s Month Celebration
Activity Objectives:
1. To intensify public awareness on

Narrative Report
Every year is observed as National Children’s Month (NCM). The
celebration seeks to emphasize the importance of the role of the child
within Filipino family and in nation building and mandates the promotion
and protection of their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social
well-being by instilling in them the values of patriotism and nationalism,
among others as well as encouraging in public and civic affairs. By virtue
of Republic Act 10661, the National Children’s Month (NCM) in the
Philippines commemorates the adoption of the UN CRC on 20 November
1989, is annually celebrated every November. It seeks to instill its
significance in the Filipino consciousness.
Pursuant Regional Memorandum No. 0958 s. 2022 dated November
2, 2022 and Division Memorandum No.498, s. 2022 dated November 7,
2022, the school informed to conduct 30 th National Children’s Month
Activities cum Anti-Bullying Advocacy Campaign with the theme:
“Kalusugan, Kaisipan, at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan” and
also launching of Anti-Bullying Campaign of the Child Protection Unit with
the theme “Ligtas na Paaralan, Sama-Samang Pangalagaan”.
Cecilia National High School in observance utilized quad media (i.e
print media, outdoor media, broadcast media, and social media) as a tool
in tackling and educating filipinos on children’s rights, parenting, and the
concerns surrounding them.
One of the activities on the Children’s Month that the school has
come up was an Outreach Program under the flagship of Project CARE
(Collaboration, Responsibility and Empathy to the community), the
activities on an outreach program are the following:
a. Reading and Comprehension Literacy (Storytelling)
b. Feeding Activity
c. Gift giving
This activity conducted was conducted through the effort of GFPS
Chairperson and its members, ESP Coordinator, and Guidance advocate in
approval and guidance of the school head Ma’am Shiona B. Cabonilas.
Donations and donors from the stakeholders pour out to support the
activity. We accumulated toys, preloved clothes and cash worth 2,000.00
pesos.
Together with Grade 12-students we prepare rice, chicken adobo,
pancit-bihon for the nourishment of 30 selected Monobo children ages
from 4 years old – 10 years old and we also paired it with juice. We started
the activity at 8:00 o’clock in the morning and observing proper health
protocol by letting them wash their hands before eating.
The school also utilizes Gulayan sa Paaralan that produces organic
and lush vegetables for sale on cheap and affordable prices to the parents
for their day to day consumption. This Gulayan sa Paaralan were product
of collaboration and active participation of all the stakeholders of the
school. Thus, promoting its goal to promote the rights of every children for
healthy and nourishing food, making them to grow healthy and productive
citizen of the community.
Aside from the outreach program activity, there is also Slogan,
Poster Making contest and Anti-bullying campaign in observance to
Division Memorandum No.498, s. 2022 “Conduct of the Child Protection
Unit (CPU) 30th National Children’s Month Activities cum Anti-Bullying
Advocacy Campaign” participated by selected Junior High School and
Senior High School students of Cecilia National High School.
The yearly NCM aims to stimulate advocacy and public information
on upholding child rights. Specifically it aims to: intensify public
awareness on children’s rights and knowledge, adequate care for children,
and application positive discipline in daily dealings with children.
