Parts of Speech
The parts of speech are the basic building blocks of language. They are the different
types of words that we use to communicate. There are eight parts of speech:

 Nouns: Nouns are words that name people, places, things, or ideas.
 Pronouns: Pronouns are words that take the place of nouns.
 Verbs: Verbs are words that describe actions, states of being, or occurrences.
 Adjectives: Adjectives are words that describe nouns or pronouns.
 Adverbs: Adverbs are words that modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs.
 Prepositions: Prepositions are words that show relationships between words or phrases.
 Conjunctions: Conjunctions are words that connect words, phrases, or clauses.
 Interjections: Interjections are words that express emotion or surprise.

Sentence Structure
A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought. The basic sentence
structure is subject-verb-object (SVO). However, there are many other sentence structures
that can be used.

 Subject: The subject is the who or what the sentence is about.

 Verb: The verb is the word that tells what the subject is doing or being.
 Object: The object is the word that receives the action of the verb.

Tense Sense
Tense refers to the time at which an action or event takes place. There are
three main tenses:

 Present tense: The present tense is used to describe actions or events that are
happening now.
 Past tense: The past tense is used to describe actions or events that happened in
the past.
 Future tense: The future tense is used to describe actions or events that will happen
in the future.
Basic Knowledge of Grammar

Grammar is the set of rules that govern the structure of language. It includes rules
for how words are formed, how words are combined into sentences, and how
sentences are combined into paragraphs.

Learn Vocabulary Every Day

Vocabulary is the words that you know. The more vocabulary you know, the better you will be able
to communicate. There are many ways to learn new vocabulary, such as reading books, watching
movies, and talking to people.
