III. Admission Procedure

2. Document Evaluation
The applicant's academic achievements and plans will be evaluated. An online
reading and speaking test may be required.

3. Announcement of Evaluation Results and Submission of Admission Proposal


The applicant's admission results can be checked through the registered email
and official website. If the applicant passes the evaluation, they will receive an
(conditional) admission proposal.
All important announcements during the admission process will be posted on the
official website below.

4. Admission Consent and Required Documents


If you receive an admission proposal, you can give admission consent by paying
the tuition and other expenses. Additionally, the following documents must be
sent by mail (electronic document submission is not allowed).

(*1) Government certification will only be recognized if obtained through


one of the following methods:
a. Apostille certification
b. Korean consular certification in the country where the document was
issued
c. Consular certification at the Embassy (Consulate) of the country where the
document was issued, located in Korea
● Graduation certificates and academic transcripts issued by Korean
universities do not require separate certification or notarization procedures.
● Chinese applicants who graduated from high school in China must submit
one of the following reports issued by the China Academic Degrees and
Graduate Education Development Center (www.cdgdc.edu.cn):
● National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) transcript, 2) National
High School Graduation Examination (HuiKao) certificate or transcript, 3)
Vocational High School Graduation Certificate.
● Chinese applicants who have graduated from a 2 or 3-year vocational
college must submit the graduation certificate issued by the Chinese
Higher Education Student Information (CHSI) (www.chsi.com.cn).

5-1. Visa Application(General)


a. Once the authenticity of the documents submitted by the applicant is
verified, the Korean Language Education Center will send the visa
application materials as the invitee both online and offline to successful
candidates. The successful candidates are required to submit the
documents received from the KLEC, along with their academic and
financial proof, to the embassy or consulate. Prior to applying for a visa,
please contact the local embassy or consulate to confirm the
required documents and processing time.
b. Visa issuance is the sole authority of the Korean Embassy (Consulate),
and admission approval from the Korean Language Education Center does
not guarantee visa issuance. If the visa application is rejected, the
admission approval will be revoked automatically.

5-2. Visa Application(Uzbekistan, Mongolia, China, Vietnam)


c. Once the authenticity of the documents submitted by the applicant is
confirmed, the Korean Language Education Center will scan the
documents and proceed with the application for Certificate of Visa Eligibility
(APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF VISA ELIGIBILITY) through the
Republic of Korea Visa Portal (visa.go.kr) to the Ulsan Immigration Office.
Upon approval of the visa eligibility certificate application, the applicant
must visit the Korean Embassy or Consulate in their place of residence to
apply for a D-4 visa.
d. Visa issuance is the sole authority of the Korean Embassy (Consulate),
and admission approval from the Korean Language Education Center does
not guarantee visa issuance. If the visa application is rejected, the
admission approval will be revoked automatically.

IV. Guidelines for Document Submission


a. All submitted documents will not be returned to the applicant.
b. All documents must be submitted in their original form. However, for
graduation certificates and academic transcripts, certified copies with
government authentication and certification may be accepted.
c. Documents not written in Korean or English must be translated and
certified, and the translations must be submitted together with the
original documents.
d. Government-authenticated and certified documents are only accepted if
they were issued within the past 1 year.
e. Proof of financial capability documents are only accepted if they were
issued within the past 1 month.
f. Any matters not mentioned in the guidelines will be handled according to
the admission and academic regulations of University of Ulsan. For more
information, please contact the admissions officer.

● Please note that the overall expenses may vary depending on the
applicant's duration of dormitory stay and exchange rates. The above price
list is for reference purposes only.
● General expenses are subject to change annually according to the
university's policies.
● Medical insurance (ISHC) is mandatory and applicable only during the
period before enrolling in the National Health Insurance of South Korea
after entry. This is implemented to ensure student protection.
● Starting from 2021, all foreign students are required to join the National
Health Insurance after 6 months of their entry. Consequently, insurance
costs may increase.
● All incoming students have the option to be assigned a dormitory room for
the first semester (room conditions may vary depending on the availability
of rooms).
