INFLIGHT EMERGENCIES (continued)

LEFT OR RIGHT OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ON

If low oil pressure is confirmed by the oil pressure gauge, the

engine should be shut down by applying the Engine Failure During
Flight checklist.

If the oil pressure gauge indicates normal pressure (70 – 120 PSI)
monitor engine parameters. However, if any abnormal indications
appear (i.e. uncommanded RPM fluctuations, rising oil
temperatures, etc.), shut down the engine by applying the Engine
Failure In-Flight checklist.

ENGINE CONTROL MALFUNCTION

Upon indication of improper operation of a fuel control or propeller

control, it is recommended that the affected engine be shut down
and a single engine landing accomplished.

WHEELWELL AND WING OVERHEAT WARNING LIGHT ON

STEADY LIGHT

*1. BLEED AIR SWITCH (affected side) ........................... OFF

2. LANDING GEAR ....................................................... DOWN
Leave gear extended at least three (3) minutes to allow
cooling of overheated brakes in order to preclude a brake/
tire fire and tire explosion.
3. GENERATOR SWITCH (affected side) ....................... OFF

If warning light extinguishes, retract landing gear after three (3)

minutes cooling and continue flight with the bleed air OFF; the
generator may be RESET/ON. If the light reilluminates STEADY,
extend the gear. Expect performance degradation due to the drag of
the gear. A diversion and precautionary landing may be necessary.
If the light changes to a FLASHING mode complete the wheelwell
wing overheat flashing items.

If the warning light does not extinguish within three minutes, the
affected engine should be shut down. The landing gear may
have to be retracted to sustain flight until arriving at a suitable
landing field.

2. GENERATOR (affected side) ...................................... OFF

If warning light does not extinguish within three minutes, the

affected engine should be shut down.

UNPRESSURIZED FLIGHT

1. Cabin Dump Switch .................................................... DUMP

*2. Bleed Air Switches .......................................... AS DESIRED

LOW SUCTION LIGHT ON

Less than 4.4 in. Hg suction is being produced.

Pressurization – Monitor operation in automatic mode. If

abnormalities are noted revert to manual operation.

Vacuum Powered Instruments (If installed) – Check Suction

Gauge. Cross check instruments against non-vacuum
instruments.

Deice Boots – Monitor deflation cycle. Incomplete deflation

will effect their ability to shed ice. Exit icing conditions as
soon as possible.

HIGH OIL TEMPERATURE

ON THE GROUND

If the maximum oil temperature limit is exceeded, do not takeoff.

IN FLIGHT

1. High oil temperature can be an indication of low oil

quantity or impending engine failure.

2. If the oil temperature exceeds the maximum limit, reduce

power on the affected engine.

3. If the oil temperature remains out of limits and there are

any other indications of pending engine failure, the engine
should be shutdown.
