1.2.Tighten the 2 screws to 4.2 Nm (37 in-lb).
2. Install the grounding cable.
3. Connect the antenna cables.

Note: Install the grounding cable according to local standards. For example, use single M8 screw or
2 x M5 screws. Tighten M8 screw to 20 Nm (14.75 ft-lb) Tighten M5 screws to 4.2 Nm (37 in-lb).

Note: Connect the 4.3.10 antenna connectors. Tighten to 5 Nm (3.7 ft-lb).

Conntecting the DC power cable

2
Note: DC connector terminals accept 6-25 mm (10-4 AWG) wire gauge. The allowed outer diameter of the
jacketed/shielded cable is 6-25 mm.
2
Note: It is recommended to use a DC distribution box so that shorter, thinner (<16 mm /6 AWG) DC cables can be
connected to the unit for easier maintenance.

Note: 2T2R DC connector requires middle (ground) terminal cable to be a little longer (~5 mm) than the other two
wires.

4. To connect the DC power cable,
do the following:

4.1 Strip about 10 cm (4 in.) of the

DC cable and wrap tape around the
GND mesh and cable sheath neck.

4.2 Wrap extra tape around the

4.2 exposed wires to prevent the IP
boot from tearing (when routing
the cable through the boot).

4.3 Remove the narrow end of the

DC boot if needed.

TIP: When using a thick cable, the narrow end of the DC boot can be removed using scissors. Use a single cut to
ensure a clean cut surface. For details, see the step which presents removing the narrow end of an DC boot. Note
that you can insert only one DC cable with a diameter of maximum 25 mm to the DC boot. Minimum cable
diameter is 6 mm.

NOTICE: The DC boot edge must be smooth. Ensure there are no cracks present in the edge, as it
breaks boot DC protection.

4.4 Insert the taped end of the DC feeder cable into the DC boot and feed it through.

4.5 Remove the extra tape from the DC cable.

Note: Keep the tape around the GND mesh and cable sheath neck to protect the DC boot from sharp edges.

4.6 Connect the wires to the screw terminal. Tighten to 3.0 Nm (27 in-lb).

NOTICE:
Connect the wires according to the markings on the connectors.

4.7 Fix the DC boot in place and tighten the screw. Tighten to max. 2.0 Nm (1.47 in.-lb).

4.8 Secure the cable in place with the cable clamp and tighten it to 0.5 Nm (0.37 in.-lb).

Note: FPAD/E mounting on back of RRH is not supported by FRIJ/FHEL. FPAD/E can only be mounted on pole or
to a wall. In pole installations, the length of the DC output cable limits the number of FPAD per AMPA to two and
the number of FPAE per AMPA to three. In wall installations, FPAD has to be installed next to the cable bracket.

Connecting optical cables

NOTICE:
Incorrect cables and seals might not provide appropriate ingress protection. Use only tested IP65 class
outdoor cables with seals provided by Nokia. This is required for both indoor and outdoor installations.

NOTICE:
Overbending the optical fiber cables damages the cables and can detach or damage the connectors.
Do not bend optical fiber cables to a radius smaller than the minimum radius of 50 mm (1.97 in.) for
cables with a 5 mm (0.20 in.) diameter, or 70 mm (2.76 in.) for cables with a 7 mm (0.28 in.) diameter.

The optical fiber connector and cables are fragile. Handle them with care. For 90 degree angle optical
cables, always route the optical cable the same direction as the fixed bend.

NOTICE: Optical fibers are sensitive. The presence of contaminants lowers the mechanical strength of
the optical fiber and might dampen the transmission of light in the fibers Clean all optical fiber connectors
before installation using an optical fiber connector cleaning kit.
