Homework: Read the textbook and write down about
more persecutions of other companions.
1. Hazrat Uthman bin Affan (R.A)
2. Hazrat Musab bin Umair (R.A)
3. Hazrat Khabbab bin Al-Aratt (R.A)
4. Hazrat Abu Fakih Aflah (R.A)
5. Hazrat An-Nahdiyah/Zinairah (R.A)
Uthman bin Affan: Since he was a noble, he was persecuted by his uncle who
would wrap him in a carpet and hang him then burn incense below. Uthman would
feel the heat but didn’t renounce his faith.
Musab bin Umayr: Another rich teenager, who was the best dressed in Makkah.
When he accepted the message, his mother imprisoned him at home and starved
him. He persevered. She then exiled him and told him he would not have any share
in the inheritance but the love of Allah and His Prophet surpassed every worldly
pleasure and he suffered everything courageously.
Khabbab bin Arat: He was a blacksmith and a slave. His master tortured him and
branded him with his tools. His neck was twisted and he was forced to lie down on
burning coals.
Abu Faqih: like Uthman, he too was rolled up in carpet and hanged and had to
endure the heat of fire burning below.
Zinneerah: She was a Roman slave who had to bear severe torture. She went
temporarily blind due to the torture but Allah restored her sight. She was bought
and freed by Abu Bakr

1. Financial Reason
2. Social Reasons
3. Political Reasons
4. Religious reasons
Write down the details for each
reason.
The Quraysh didn’t want to give up their forefathers’ traditions and
religious beliefs.
They were not able to give up the temptations of the worldly life like
drinking, gambling etc.
Due to tribal rivalries they didn’t believe in the Holy Prophet because they
thought that their tribe deserved prophethood more than the Banu
Hashim.
Their religion was a source of finances for them as people all over the
world paid homage to the idols.
