ADMISSION NOTIFICATION No. 08 of 2024
For
2-year M Sc Biotechnology Programme
Online Applications are invited from eligible GAT-B qualified candidates for admission to M Sc Bio-
technology Programme for the academic session 2024 offered at Department of Bio-technology,
University of Kashmir. Admission to the Programme shall be governed by the DBT Regulation
/Admission Policy of the University of Kashmir. The candidates can check the status of their GAT-B by
accessing NTA website
i) Important dates as approved by DBT for GAT-B 2024:

ii) Eligibility:
Applicants should have passed, Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern in Physical, and
Biological Sciences OR Bachelors degree in Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Science,
Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS from the University of Kashmir
or any other Institute recognized by UGC with at least 55% marks in aggregate for Open Merit
and 50% marks for reserved categories.
iii) Intake Capacity: (20 Seats)
iv) Admission Criteria:
Candidates shall be admitted to the programme on the basis of GAT-B score 2024

vi) Submission of Online Application Forms:
The candidates are advised to follow below mentioned steps for filling their Online
Application Forms: -

Admissions. Read Important Instructions for Registration and Submission of Form carefully
before proceeding further.
Step-2: Candidates need to register before submitting the Online Application Form. For Registration with
the System Click on the “Register as Student”. Remember the Username and Password for future
reference.
Step-3: After successful Registration, login into the system for submitting Online Application Form.
Enter your “Registration No.” and Click “Next”.
Step-4: Enter the required details and Upload your latest passport size Photograph and click “Next”.
Step-6: If there is any variation click on “Previous” button, make necessary corrections and then Click
“Submit”. Get a printout of the Form and retain it for reference and record.
vii) Submission of downloaded Application Forms (Hard copy):
After submitting the Online Application Form, candidate need not to submit the downloaded
Form (hard copy) but should retain with themselves for future reference.
viii) Verification of documents/certificates:
• Department of Biotechnology will check/verify the educational / GAT-B score and Rank
Card / category certificates etc. of the candidates at the time of admission and it will
be the sole responsibility of the candidate to make sure if he/she is meeting the
prescribed criterion.
• The selection of the candidate will be rejected if it is found that the applicant does not
fulfill the eligibility criteria or has misrepresented/suppressed the information.
