In today’s world, an increasing number of people
who suffer from health issues are looking for
alternative medication in lieu of checking up with
doctors. I believe that it is generally a negative trend,
as some alternative medication can bring up higher
risk of death and more diverse diseases by using
poor quality treatment.
The efficacy and safety of many of these treatments
are uncertain because they frequently draw from
anecdotal or antiquated techniques. Patients who opt
to such alternatives put their health and wellbeing at
risk. For example, some people may jeopardize their
health by choosing alternative medications for long-
term conditions like cancer or cardiovascular
diseases.
On the other hand, there are a lot of scammers who
sell poor quality, ineffective and non-healing drugs. It
is easy for patients to trust the advertisements of
these people and buy drugs of unknown origin
leading to adverse health effects. Moreover, people
who lack knowledge and information can use drugs
and treatment with wrong dosage and method. For
example, using more than the prescribed dose will
lead to side effects of the drug, reduce the
effectiveness of the drug and adversely affect health.
In conclusion, despite the fact that many people
would rather take medicines than see a doctor, I
firmly think that this phenomena should be
prevented because it negatively affects people's
health.
