THE HISTORY OF ASSAM CAN BE DIVIDED INTO FOUR PARTS :

CHAKRADHWAJ SINGHA OR SUPUNGMUNG
(1663-1670 A.D.)
He appointed Lachit as Borphukon, son of Momai Tamuli
Barbarua.
During his reign the Battle of Aalaboi took place in 1669
A.D. which is considered as one of the tragic in the ahom
dynasty.
After the defeat of Mughal at Guwahati the Mughal
emperor Aurangzeb sent Ram Singh against the Ahom.
The Ahom general Lachit BorPhukan made full
preparation for war and constructed a rampart at
Saraighat.
Lachit’smaternal uncle was appointed to supervise the
work but he did not perftheorm his duty in time, Lachit
killed him to death. After that the rest of soldiers
completed the work within the night. The Rampart ,
therefore , is known as Momai Kata Garh.
UDAYADITYA SINGHA OR SUNAYTPHA
(1670-1673 A.D.)
During his reign, the famous battle of Saraighat (1671)
was toook place. In this Ahoms become Victorious.
Lachit died after few days of the battle of Saraighat and
his brother Laluksola appointed Barphukon.
In 1673, Udayaitya Singha was poisoned to death by
Debera.
THE CLIMACTERIC PERIOD OF AHOM KINGDOM
After killing the Udayaditya Singha , his younger brother
ascended the throne. He assumed the name Suklampha
and hindu name Ramdhwaj.
Ramdhwaj made Debera The Barbarua.
Debera poisoned Ramdhwaj.
Debera than installed a king named Suhung to the
throne. Suhung is said to have ruled for only 21 days.
Debera killed Suhung too.
Debera then appointed new prince named Gober to the
throne.
Atan Burhagohain killed both of [Link] installed a new
prince name Sudaipha.
Laluksola Borhukon , brother of Lachit kill Atan
Buragohain.
Laluksola Barphukon, greedy for power, appointed a very
young boy of 14 years, Sulikpha or Ratnadhwaj singh or
Lora Raja as king.
Laluksola killed many people of the Royel family except
Godapani, who was the son Gober Raja.
On advice of his wife Jaymati, Gadapani fled to the Naga
hills, Jaymati was tortured by Laluksola for not revealing
her husband’s words and died 14 days later in the field of
jerwnga.
In 1680 A.D. Laluksola was murderd.
GADADHAR SINGHA OR SUPATPHA
(1681-1696 A.D.)
Gadadhar singha was a follower of Shaktism.
Gadadhar Singha made Umananda temple.
Also made Dhador ali , near Golaghat (Dibrugarh to
Golaghat).
Battle of Itakhuli(1682) was fought during is reign. It
was the last battle between Ahom and Mughal.
The Ahoms became victories in this battle and thereafter,
the river Manas became western boundary of the Ahom
kingdom.
