Logarithm

Applications :
1.Logarithms are used for measuring the magnitude of earthquakes.
2.Logarithms are used for measuring the noise levels in dBs (decibels).
3.They are used to measure the pH level of chemicals.
4.Logarithms are used in radioactivity, mainly to detect the half-life of a radioactive element.

Matrices
Applications :
1.Matrices can be solved physical related application and one applied in the study of
electrical circuits, quantum mechanics and optics.
2. with the help of matrices, calculation of battery power outputs, resistor conversion of
electrical energy into another useful energy
3. They are used to create graphs, statistics, calculate and conduct scientific studies and
research in a variety of subjects.
4. Matrices are also used to represent real-world statistics such as population, infant
mortality rate, and so on.

Partial Fraction
Applications :
1. Partial fractions are frequently applied to simplify and solve integrals of rational
functions.
2. By decomposing a complex rational function into simpler fractions, integration
becomes more manageable.
3. This technique is especially useful when integrating functions involving polynomials
of different degrees.

Straight Line
Applications :
1. Light travels in Straight line. Roads, Railway Tracks and Bridges are constructed based on
parallel lines.
2. Use of Slopes in Physics: While plotting graphs of motion, the graph of position vs time
results in a straight line.
3. Straight line graphs are used in the research process and the preparation of the
government budget.
4. Straight line graphs are used in Chemistry and Biology.
5. Straight line graphs are used to estimate whether our body weight is appropriate
according to our height.
Function
Applications :
6. These functions typically arise in such applications as communications systems,
statistical probability distribution, electro-optics, nonlinear wave propagation,
electromagnetic theory, potential theory, electric circuit theory, and quantum
mechanics.
7. Finding how far someone travels after a certain amount of time.
8. Predicting expected tree growth.
9. Determining how much money to expect from investments.
10. Calculating how much profit can be earned from sales

Derivative
Applications :
1. To calculate the profit and loss in business using graphs.
2. To check the temperature variation.
3. To determine the speed or distance covered such as miles per hour, kilometre per hour etc.
4. Derivatives are used to derive many equations in Physics
5. The applications of derivatives are used to determine the rate of changes of a
quantity w.r.t the other quantity.
6. It is also applied to determine the profit and loss in the market using graphs.
Derivatives are applied to determine equations in Physics and Mathematics

Application of Derivative
Applications :
1. To find the equation of tangent and normal.
2. To find increasing and decreasing function , maxima, minima.
3. Some common applications of derivatives include optimization problems, related
rates problems, critical points, inflection points, concavity, and curve sketching.
Understanding derivatives and their applications is crucial for solving real-world
problems and making informed decisions in various fields.
4. Derivative further finds application in the study of seismology to detect the range of
magnitudes of the earthquake.
5. Derivative is useful to find approximate value of function.
Statistics
Applications :

1. Statistics in engineering is used for designing experiments, analysing data,

summarising and presenting information, and drawing reliable conclusions.
2. It guides risk management, quality control, reliability analysis, and making informed
decisions in design and operational processes.
3. One of the most important applications of statistical analysis is in designing clinical
trials.
4. Statistics can be used in real life to plan budgets, determine the best routes to travel,
find the best prices for products bought and sold, and the best times to perform
various daily activities.
5. One of the most crucial applications of statistics in data analytics is hypothesis testing,
which allows researchers to make inferences about a population based on a sample of
data.
6. Educational statistics is an important tool in educational management, educational
decision-making and educational reform.

Trigonometry
Applications :

1.Applications of trigonometry are applied in areas such as architecture, celestial mechanics,

surveying, etc. The most common fields are astronomy and physics where it helps in finding
the distance between the stars and planets, the path in motion, and analysing the waves.

2. It is also used to find the distance of the shore from a point in the sea
3. The sine and cosine functions are commonly used to model periodic phenomena such as
sound and light waves, the position and velocity of harmonic oscillators, sunlight intensity
and day length, and average temperature variations throughout the year.
4. It is used in constructing maps in geography and navigation.
5. Trigonometry is often used by marine biologists for measurements to figure out the depth
of sunlight that affects algae to photosynthesis.
6. Civil and mechanical engineers use trigonometry to calculate torque and forces on objects,
such as bridges or building girders.
7. Engineers use trigonometric principles to calculate slopes, gradients, and curves, as well as
to analyze soil mechanics and foundation designs.
