Chosen Legal Case: ISP vs California net neutrality law
Summary: California's net neutrality law, enacted in 2018, goes back to the existing rules that make it
unlawful for internet service providers to slow down, block, or curry favor with internet access for
payment. California's law has been a hallmark response to the state level regarding federal net
neutrality protections scrapped by the FCC in 2017. The California regulations rank among the toughest
in the United States and are aimed at preserving the open internet for customers. Critics include ISPs
and various trade groups that argue it unfairly restricts them and would stifle innovation and
infrastructure investment in networks. The law sparked a legal battle, but in 2022, a federal court
allowed it to continue to remain in effect, the most significant victory for net neutrality supporters to
date.

Guide Questions:
1. Was the cause of the case valid in terms of presented proof and argument?
ANS: Supporters of the California net neutrality law introduced the measure as a need to protect consumers and
maintain an open internet. They were concerned that if this kind of law didn't exist, internet providers would start
to slow down access to certain websites, block content, or charge extra for fasterr Internet access.
2. Was the result of the case reasonable based on fairness and logic?
ANS: The result was fair due to the court wanting to protect the clients and avoiding such interest, so i believe
that the court's decision was correct and fair in terms of logic.
3. How would you apply the pointers to avoid legal problems in this case?
ANS: i would simply not be too greedy, and prioritize the needs of the people and do our service as intended to
avoid such malicious activities and to prevent data lost to the wrong hands
