Mesh Crochet

Sweater
Special Note for Sizing!!
You will need to use a measuring tape to find the measure of
your chest/bust for this pattern.
To get Measurement A: ((bust size in inches) + 4 inches)/2
For example, my bust size is 34, so I add 4 inches to get 38 and
then divide by 2, giving me 19.5. This is your Measurement A
number!! Keep note of this number!!

If you don’t like how cropped the shirt comes out once you fin-
ish the front and back panels, feel free to add a couple extra
rows to give it length!

As for the arms, you’re more than welcome to make the sleeve
holes smaller or bigger by increasing/decreasing how high up
you stitch together the panels of the shirt.

Happy Crocheting!
sl st = slip stitch hdc = half-double crochet ch = chain

WHAT YOU NEED: 5mm hook and ant weight 4 yarn (about 560 yards give or take)
(special note: I used color-changing yarn for this pattern!)

Row 1: ch until you reach your Measurement A length (make sure you end on an even number). Hdc
into third ch from hook. [Ch 1, skip stitch, hdc into next stitch] repeat until you reach the end of your
chain.
Row 2: ch 3 and turn work. Skip stitch, hdc into next stitch. [Ch 1, skip stitch, hdc into next stitch]
repeat until you reach the end of the row.
Repeat row 2 until your shirt is as long as you’d like it to be. To decide this, hold the panel in front of
you, lining the top row to the top of your shoulders (For reference, I like to make mine about 34
rows long). If you would like it longer, keep adding rows! If you’re happy with the length, proceed to
the next steps:

(Ch 3, turn work, skip stitch, hdc into next stitch. [Ch 1, skip
stitch, hdc into next stitch] repeat 9 times. Ch 1, turn work,
skip stitch, hdc into next stitch. [Ch 1, skip stitch, hdc into next
stitch] repeat to the end of the row. Ch 3, turn work, skip stitch,
hdc into next stitch. [Ch 1, skip stitch, hdc into next stitch] re-
peat 7 times. Ch 1, skip stitch, sl st into next stitch. Ch 1, cut
yarn, and pull tight. This creates one side of the neck divot for
this panel!)
To create the other side, turn work. Tie yarn onto the top cor-
ner of the neck side you DIDN’T just create. Repeat the instruc-
tions you just followed in the parentheses to make the other half of the neck hole!

You have finished your front panel! Do all of this one more time to
create your back panel. Then, to join them together, you will sew
along the top 7 stitches on either side. Fold the panels on top of
each other so it looks like a sleeveless shirt, and (starting from the
bottom), sew up on either side until you reach your desired arm hole size. = sew 2 panels together

Sleeves:
Sleeve Stitches
Row 1: Make sure the shirt is flipped right-side in (NOT inside out). Tie yarn
onto the bottom stitch of the sleeves (otherwise known as where you stopped
stitching up the side of the shirt, about halfway up). Ch 3, skip stitch, hdc into
next stitch. [Ch 1, skip stitch, hdc into next stitch] repeat this all the way
Shirt Stitches

around the arm hole. Each hdc should line up with the top of a row from the
shirt panels. Once done with the row, ch 1, sl st into 3rd ch from initial chain
3.
Row 2: Ch 3, skip stitch, hdc into next stitch. [Ch 1, skip stitch, hdc into next
stitch] repeat this all the way around the arm hole. Once done with the row, ch 1, sl st into 3rd ch
from initial chain 3.
Repeat Row 2 until you are content with the length of the arms.
Repeat all of this for the other sleeve as well, and voila! You have your shirt!
