Q # 1 [CLO 1] (20 marks):
Consider the lines 𝑳𝟏 , 𝑳𝟐 and 𝑳𝟑
𝑳𝟏 : 𝒙 = 𝑨 + 𝟐𝒕, 𝒚 = −𝑩 − 𝒕, 𝒛 = 𝟑𝒕, −∞<𝒕<∞
𝑳𝟐 : 𝒙 = 𝟐𝑫 − 𝒔, 𝒚 = 𝑪 + 𝟑𝒔, 𝒛 = 𝟏 + 𝑩𝒔, −∞<𝒔<∞
𝑳𝟑 : 𝒙 = 𝑨 + 𝟐𝒓, 𝒚 = 𝟏 − 𝑩𝒓, 𝒛 = 𝟖𝑫 + 𝟑𝒓, −∞<𝒓<∞
a) Construct the lines 𝑳𝟏 , 𝑳𝟐 and 𝑳𝟑 by putting the values of 𝑨, 𝑩, 𝑪 and 𝑫
using your student registration ID no. [as explained in given instructions]
and write the obtained lines 𝑳𝟏 , 𝑳𝟐 and 𝑳𝟑 .
b) Using the obtained lines in part (a), Check whether the given three
lines are parallel lines, perpendicular lines, intersecting lines, or
skew lines.
c) If the lines are intersecting lines, then find the point of intersection
of the lines.
Marks distribution: Construction of 3 lines: 3 marks, find 3 vectors from
corresponding 3 lines: 3 marks, checking parallel: 2 marks, checking
perpendicular: 2 marks, checking intersecting lines or skew lines and its
calculation and point of intersection (if any): 10 marks.

Q # 2 [CLO1] (10 marks):
Consider the planes 𝑷𝟏 and 𝑷𝟐 given below:
𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝟏: (𝟓 + 𝑨)𝒙 − 𝟐𝒚 = 𝟏𝟏 − 𝑩
𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝟐: 𝟒𝒚 − (𝟓 + 𝑪)𝒛 = −𝟏𝟕 + 𝑫
a) Construct the equations of the planes 𝑷𝟏 and 𝑷𝟐 by putting the
values of 𝑨, 𝑩, 𝑪 and 𝑫 using your student registration ID no. [as
explained in given instructions] and write the obtained
equations of the planes 𝑷𝟏 and 𝑷𝟐 .
b) Using the obtained planes in part (a), Check whether the given
planes are parallel planes or not parallel?
c) If the given planes are not parallel planes, then check whether
the planes are coincident planes, or intersecting planes along
a line?
d) If the planes are intersecting along the line, then find the
parametric equation of line.
Marks distribution: Construction of 2 planes: 2 marks, find 2 vectors
from corresponding 2 planes: 2 marks, checking parallel or not parallel: 1
mark, checking coincident or intersecting planes and its calculation and
line of intersection (if any): 5 marks.
