Automatic Identification System

FA-100

The AIS enhances the safety of navigation and efficiency of VTS

operation. Ship's ID, type of ship (cargo or fish boat, etc.), position,
speed, course, navigational status and other safety-related information
are exchanged with AIS-fitted ships and VTS control stations without
intervention of shipborn personnel. The system is configured on VHF
radio links by TDMA technology.
The FURUNO FA-100 complies with IMO MSC.74(69) Annex 3, ITU-R
M.1371, IEC 61993-2. Featuring ■ LCD panel satisfying the IMO
minimum requirements plus simple plotting modes ■ Interfaces for
radar, ECDIS, PC. LAN for future networking expansion ■ Monitoring
by order of CPA/TCPA or by range ■ Optional GPS/VHF combined
antenna for easy installation ■ Built-in GPS receiver for UTC
synchronization and backup position fixing.

Voyage Data Recorder

The FURUNO VR-5000 fully complies with the
IMO A.861(20) and IEC 61996 testing standard.
The standard VDR consists of a Data Collecting
Unit (DCU) and a Data Recording Unit (DRU).
The DCU contains interface modules, a powerful
computer and a status monitor. It collects data
from sensors as required by te IMO and IEC
standards. FURUNO is the only manufacturer who
can supply a full package of shipborn electronics
including VDR, individual radionav and radiocom
equipment, Integrated Navigation System or
VR-5000 Integrated Bridge System.
