About
Earlier the Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University (Central
University), New Delhi established in 2017 under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers
& Teaching (PMMMNMTT) scheme is now being renamed as Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre
(MMTTC) by UGC, Ministry of Education to sought a synergy and integration between HRDCs and PMMMNMTT
Centres. The vision of this centre is to develop skills & competencies in the higher education faculty members
for better teaching, learning and research in line with NEP 2020. The TLC of our university since its inception
had successfully organized 60 programmes in the form of workshops, seminars, conferences & training
programmes and 04 one month mandatory Faculty Induction Programme (FIP) for newly inducted Higher
Education Faculty from which more than 7000 participants were benefitted. The Centre had also conducted
03 Annual Refresher Programme In Teaching (ARPIT) courses through SWAYAM in Sanskrit discipline and
had also published 02 handbooks for teaching Sanskrit one at upper primary level and other at secondary
level. This Centre has now been identified as one of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre which
was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chairman of UGC Prof. M. Jagdesh Kumar. The Centre has successfully organized
01 Faculty Induction Programme, 01 Refresher Course, 04 FDP (one in face-to-face & 03 in online mode) and
18 NEP Orientation & Sensitization programmes in online mode till now.
Backdrop
As we all know that the capacity building of faculty across all level of Higher Education is one of the thrust areas
of quality & excellence in education which is well catered through training programmes conducted by HRDC’s
of UGCs & various Centres under PMMMNMTT scheme. In keeping view the optimal utilization of infrastructure,
human & financial resources, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has sought that synergy & integration between
these two Centres should be strengthened and the entire capacity building effort to be renamed & popularized
as Malaviya Mission through Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) which was inaugurated
by Hon’ble Minister of Education Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan on 5th September 2023. To implement this
programme, 111 institutions (66 HRDCs & 45 PMMMNMTTs) were identified as Malaviya Mission Teacher
Training Centres. Each Centre has to conduct 36 Programmes per year which can be classified into 4 types of
programmes viz. 24-NEP Orientation & Sensitization, 2-FIPs, 5-Short-Term Programmes, & 5-Refresher
Programmes. In this backdrop, this 08 days online national NEP Orientation & Sensitization Programme is being
organized with an intent to orient & sensitize Higher Education faculty on the 8 key themes of NEP-2020 viz.
Holistic and Multidisciplinary Education; Indian Knowledge Systems; Academic Leadership, Governance, and
Management; Higher Education and Society; Research and Development; Skill Development; Student Diversity
& Inclusive Education and Information and Communication Technology.
Objective
The main objective of this programme is to orient and sensitize the participants on key themes of
NEP-2020 in order to ensure its effective implementation.

IMPORTANT
✓ Online Registration on MMTT Portal is mandatory for participation.
✓ e-certificate will be issued to those who have attended the programme (100% attendance in all sessions)
and qualified the assessment tests.
✓ The NEP orientation & Sensitization Programme shall be considered equivalent to One Week FDP/STP
for regularization/CAS.
