ROLE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

🠶 Physiotherapy is the utilization of physical agents

(Electrotherapy Modalities) & Therapeutic exercises

🠶 Diagnosis

🠶 Treatment of disabilities and impairments

FACTS ABOUT PHYSICAL AGENTS/ MODALITIES

🠶 All physical agents' modalities involve the introduction of some

physical energy ( electrical, thermal, electromagnetic sound)into
a biologic system

🠶 This energy brings about the one or more Physiological changes,

which are used for Therapeutic benefit

🠶 In the Clinical environment, firstly to select the most appropriate

dose & secondly to apply the treatment
🠶 The mechanism of action of each therapeutic
modality depends on which form of energy is utilized
during its application
Definition of electrotherapy or therapeutic
modalities

🠶 It is a branch of physiotherapy characterized by the

treatment of various disease and disorders with the help of
electricity
