Introduction

1 INTRODUCTION
This document details the use of the DSEWebNet® Software, which is compatible with the
DSEGenset®, DSEAts® and DSEControl® range of products.

The manual forms part of the product and should be kept for the entire life of the product. If the
product is passed or supplied to another party, ensure that this document is passed to them for
reference purposes.

This manual covers the registration and operation of the DSEWebNet for DSE products. This is not a
controlled document. DSE does not automatically inform on updates. Any future updates of this
document are included on the DSE website at www.deepseaelectronics.com

The DSEWebNet Software in conjunction with the DSE890, DSE890 MKII or DSE891 Gateway allows
the user to remotely monitor and control a wide range of modules via a supported internet browser.
Once connected, the software allows easy, controlled access to various operating parameters within
the module which can then be viewed as required.

The DSEWebNet must only be used by competent, qualified personnel, as it is possible to operate the
module from a remote location which may have safety implications on the panel / set to which it is
fitted. Access to certain sections of the system may be restricted on a user account by the
organisation account it is registered too.

The information contained in this manual must be read in conjunction with the information contained
in the appropriate module documentation. This manual only details which settings are available and
how they may be used. Separate manuals deal with the operation of the individual module and its
ancillaries, refer to the section entitled Bibliography elsewhere in this document.

Getting Started

3 GETTING STARTED
Launch a compatible internet browser and navigate to the website: www.dsewebnet.com to access
the DSEWebNet Software.

3.1 REGISTERING AN ACCOUNT

3.1.1 ACCOUNT TYPES AND USES

3.1.1.1 USER ACCOUNT

A User Account is a quick and straightforward way for a single user to start and take control of
compatible DSE devices remotely.

A User Account is best suited to those who:

• Only have a small number of DSE devices to monitor

• Do not require all the additional features of the Organisation Account
• Needs to be registered under an Organisation Account (by means of Technical Support) to
restrict their access. A User Account can be created using Admin/Users in the Configuration
Mode section. See the section entitled Users elsewhere in this document.

3.1.1.2 ORGANISATION ACCOUNT

An Organisation Account is a straightforward way for an organisation or company manager to start

and take control of compatible DSE devices.

An Organisation Account is best suited to an organisation or company who:

• Have multiple users who want to gain additional features.
• Have several DSE devices to monitor.
• Want to create access permissions to limit access for certain User Accounts registered to the
organisation.

In addition to access permissions, an Organisation Account can use the following additional features:

• Geofencing
• Geotracking
• Sending reports and event triggers to multiple users
• Controlling multiple modules of the same type simultaneously
• Customisable graphical user interface
• Configurable module and gateway names

Enabled Event Types

DSEWebNet allows events to be sent as notifications. All events recorded in a module’s event log are
uploaded to DSEWebNet and sent as notifications to a registered mobile device by default. These
consist of Alarm Types and Pre-defined Events which can be filtered using the tick boxes on the
Mobile Devices page. An event type is sent if the tick box is enabled.

NOTE: The tick boxes do NOT apply to Event Trigger mobile notifications. Triggers are a
separate process with their own settings within each trigger.

4.3.2 REPORTS

NOTE: A Report only operates if the DSE Controller supports the instrument and related
alarms selected. Refer to the DSE Controller’s Operators Manual for further details.

NOTE: A Report only displays the previous months’ worth of data at a maximum.

It is possible to configure the DSEWebNet to send an email containing a report on a certain DSE
Controller’s instruments or events automatically at configurable intervals. Reports can be configured
by administrators of organisational accounts and subsequently assigned to a user through a group.

NOTE: For information with regards to the setup of the DSEGateway, refer to DSE
Publication: 057-165 DSE890 & DSE891 Gateway Operators Manual located on the DSE
website: www.deepseaelectronics.com

The data used to create a report is uploaded to the DSEWebNet server at an interval configured in
the DSEGateway. If the Historic Upload Interval has been disabled, the Reports do not contain any
information. The resolution of the data used in the Reports is also configured in the DSEGateway.

The method used to populate the Reports with data changes depending upon the Data Resolution
configured. For example, if the fuel level of a generator does not change, no information is uploaded
leading to an empty report.
