FAQs: IMT NAGPUR: 2024-26 Admissions
1. How will the PI process be conducted this year?
The Admissions and PI process for Batch 2024-26 will be offline. The details of the process and
modalities will be shared by Jan 2024 with all shortlisted candidates over email.
2. What is the last date for application?
The application to the programs happens in phases. We keep posting the deadline for applications
on our website and other social media platforms.
3. Do I have to apply separately for IMT-N, IMT-G and IMT-H?
Through the Common Application form, you may apply for all the campuses, once the Common
Application form’s cut-off date is over, you may separately apply for different campuses through
exclusive forms.
4. How is the campus/program allocated to a candidate for admission?
The offer is made based on the consolidated score (CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT score, past academic
score, work ex, PI performance) and the student’s preference as indicated at the time of
application.
5. What is the difference between PGDM (core)/Full Time and PGDM (MKT) and PGDM (FIN)?
Students can choose any two areas for specialization (out of 6 areas: Finance, Marketing, OB&HR,
BA&IT, Operations and Economics and General Management). But for PGDM (MKT) the major
specialization has to be Marketing, and for PGDM (FIN), it has to be finance. However, as far as
minor specialization is concerned, a student can choose any area out of rest five areas.
6. What is the difference between Major and Minor specialization?
Major specialization requires a number of electives, whereas minor requires fewer elective
courses from one single area. The first-year courses are common for all three programs. However,
for placement, specialization must not be in Major in nature. E.g. even when one has a major in
Finance but a minor in OB&HR, he/she can still appear for selection for HR profile placement.
7. What are the accreditation/ approval Institute’s programs providing?
All three programs are AICTE approved. In addition, the Institute has received SAQS accreditation,
it is in the final stage of AACSB accreditation.
PGDM (core) and PGDM (marketing) have NBA accreditation.
Institutes that are SAQS accredited get AIU equivalence, so all three programs are accepted as
postgraduate degrees (MBA), which is needed for a PhD.
8. Is the placement process separate for the three programs?
No, the placement process is standard for students of all programs.
9. What are the placement highlights?
The highest pay package (for batch 2022-24) is 36.33 Lacs, and Top 10 average is 17.16 lakh., Top

10. Can I move from one program (e.g. PGDM(MKT) to PGDM (Core)) to another program after
admission?
Yes, however, that requires either seat to be available in that program or you are able to swap
your seat with another student from that program.
11. Is work experience compulsory for admission?
Work experience is NOT compulsory however, students with work-ex get some additional score
in the selection process.
12. Does IMT Nagpur provide an international exchange program?
The Institute has MOU with 25 international institutes, and every year (except the last two) more
than 15 to 20 students are sent abroad for an entire trimester/semester. We also get the same
amount of students from abroad under exchange.
13. What is the cut-off for all the programs?
The selection is based on consolidated scores of CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT, past academic record,
work ex and performance in PI. So there is NO pre-decided cut-off. However, last year we stopped
at 75 percentiles for CAT/XAT and 90 percentiles for CMAT. For GMAT, it was 550. This year the
cut-off can be lower or higher.
14. Is there a profile-based selection?
A few candidates with outstanding academic, and extra-curricular achievements or impressive
work experience are considered for admission even if they have a marginally lower score in
CAT/XATor GMAT.
15. Is a hostel stay compulsory? Are there different hostels for girls/boys? Is it double or single
occupancy?
The residential program requires everyone to stay in the hostel. Separate hostels are there for
boys and girls. Single occupancy is limited and allocated on first cum first-serve basis.
16. How can one reach a nearby station/airport/city?
The institute has a transport facility for students. Plus, opposite the institute, there’s a bus stop
where one can get buses to the city every 30 minutes or so.
17. Will there be any waiver of hostel charges if the campus remains closed?
Yes. The amount will be deducted on a monthly charge basis (around Rs. 6000 per month)
18. What is the total fee? Does it include hostel /mess charges?
The total fees [including Hostel and Mess] for PGDM 2024-26 is 15 Lakhs INR. Subject to minor
revisions.
19. Is there a tie-up with any bank for a loan facility?
The institute has tie-ups for student loan facilities with a few banks. The details will be available
on the website.
20. How much amount will be deducted if I cancel my admission after accepting it?
The deduction will be as per AICTE policy for refunds. Please refer to AICTE's updated guidelines
for PGDM institutes for fee refund details.
Is there a reservation for SC/ST/OBC?
There is No reservation for students based on caste.
21. What are the scholarship/ fee waiver Institutes providing?
IMT N provides merit and need-based scholarships and scholarships for all female candidates.

22. Is there seats available under the management quota?
There is no management quota. Selection is based purely on merit.

24. What about Summer Internships?
The Summer Internship Programme (SIP) conducted after the first year also attracts an equally
overwhelming response from the corporate world. Students get an opportunity to work closely
with companies and develop a long-term perspective with regard to their career choices.
Companies view summer internships as a means to engage students on some productive short-
term assignments as well as evaluate them for the purpose of giving them Pre-Placement Offers
(PPOs).

25. What are Flexi Core Programs in IMT-Nagpur.
Students may choose any 2 courses out of the list of 9 available subjects so, before choosing a
specialization in 2nd year, students get some ideas from Flexi Core Course.
26. What are the specialization options?
A student has to choose 12 electives in terms 4th, 5th & 6th
Dual specialization: [for Core PGDM only] 6 from each specialization
Major / Minor: 6 from First specialization, 4 from Second specialization & and 2 compulsorily
fromother areas.
Single Specialization: 6 from specialization area, 6 from other areas with not more than 3 in any
area.
