Research
"Pag Graduate Mo Pulis Ka Na”: A Quantitative Study of the Lived Experiences of Criminology
Students Facing Pressure to Enter Law Enforcement "
As a researchers, we are motivated to conduct this title because we ourselves as a criminology
students, often feel a significant societal expectation that graduating from our program will
automatically lead us into careers in law enforcement. This perception can create considerable pressure
on us, especially since we find ourselves grappling with the weight of these expectations, which can be
overwhelming. The belief that we must pursue a career in law enforcement can overshadow our
individual goals and passions, leading to feelings of anxiety and uncertainty about our future paths. By
examining these experiences quantitatively, we hope to shed light on how this societal expectation
influences our mental health, career decisions, and the quality of our education as criminology students.
"Patterns of Study Habits and Their Impact on Exam Performance Among 4th Year Criminology
Students at Concepcion Holy Cross College"
First of all, study habits are really important for doing well in school. They include different
ways and techniques that students use to learn, remember, and use what they’ve learned. We want to
look specifically at fourth-year criminology students to see how their study habits affect their exam
scores. our group is interesting because we are almost done with our degree, which means the way we
study might have changed over time based on what we've learned before. Doing this research can help
improve how we learn at Concepcion Holy Cross College. If we find out that certain study habits really
help students do better on exams, we could create special programs or workshops to boost learning for
everyone. For example, if working in study groups turns out to be helpful, teachers might start
promoting these kinds of activities in our classes. Moreover, many students struggle with schoolwork,
which can make it hard for them to do well. I want to look into how fourth-year criminology students
study and find out what problems they face when getting ready for tests. By figuring out these
challenges, we can create better support systems in schools to help students succeed.
"Factors and influences in selecting Criminology program as perceived by freshmen students in
Concepcion Holy Cross College Inc."
As a researcher, we are driven by a deep curiosity about the factors that influence students’
choices in their academic pursuits. Specifically, we want to explore why freshmen students at
Concepcion Holy Cross College Inc. select Criminology as their field of study. Understanding these
motivations is crucial for several reasons. First and foremost, it is essential to recognize that the choice
of an academic program can significantly impact a student’s future career trajectory. Moreover, various
external factors influence students’ choices in higher education. These may include family expectations,
peer influence, and media portrayals of crime and justice. Another critical reason for conducting this
research is to enhance program development within the Criminology department. By understanding what
attracts students to this field of study, faculty members can refine curricula, develop relevant
extracurricular activities, and create mentorship opportunities that resonate with incoming students. In
summary, our desire to conduct research on “Factors and influences in selecting Criminology program as
perceived by freshmen students in Concepcion Holy Cross College Inc.” stems from a commitment to
enhancing educational practices while contributing valuable insights into student decision-making
processes.
