KAY'S CORNER
Happy New Year everyone! Didn't 2011 zoom by? Many activities are scheduled this month. The free trip to the Dr. Phil Show is scheduled for January 23rd. Sign up as soon as possible. Non-members may come also. Come to the Potluck January 4th. We will have our membership meeting following. I wish to thank the committees who have put in many hours getting our bylaws and organizational structure modernized to best fit the needs of BCH. You will be hearing more in the months ahead. Our Birthday Party will be January 18th. Wendell Kinney will make our piano rock! Remember how much fun we had singing those golden oldies along with Wendell last year? Even those of us who claim they can't carry a tune were singing loud & clear. It will be a fun program. Lastly, bring lots of books for our first book sale Friday & Saturday, January 27th & 28th. In addition, on that Saturday we will have a Story Teller. She will tell stories to the children in the Card Room. So if you are lucky enough to have grandchildren here in Bakersfield bring them, I'm sure it will be very enjoyable. We will need volunteers to cashier and bag for the event. If we have lots of volunteers, we should be able to set up short shifts. Many hands make light work. We will also need help sorting and setting up. This should be a relatively easy Fundraiser. We will have sign ups at the front desk. Another lastly, Weren't all your pictures in the Dec. issue great? Moy has done a fine job as a roving photographer. Thanks so much Moy. Kay Cook, Membership President
