Assignment 1 – Design a network topology for Local Area Network
Objectives
Draw a network diagram using the Cisco Packet Tracer for a Local Area Network (LAN) with the
following network components. Label all the components correctly.
Required Resources
1. Four switches (rename it to SW1, SW2, SW3, and SW4).
2. 6 client machines:
Laptop-name: IT1
Laptop- Name IT2
Desktop- Name HR1
Desktop-Name HR2
Desktop Name HR3
Mobile phone
3. 2 Servers – (rename to EMAIL and FTP.)
4. 1 Router- R1
5. 1 Wireless router- WR1 (Wireless Devices- WRT300N. Find the device)
Instructions
1. Rename (Label) all devices accordingly.
2. Both IT machines are connected to SW1, and All HR machines are connected to SW2.
3. Both Servers are connected to SW3
4. All 3 switches are connected to Switch SW4
5. The mobile phone is connected to the Wireless router, and the Wireless router is connected to
router R1.
6. Switch S4 is connected to Router R1
