Forbidden City Final Project
Choose one of the following options to complete for your final project for this novel. You will
complete the project and then present your project to the class.
1) Create your own plot diagram for the novel, Forbidden City. Remember to include ALL 6
stages. You need to label each stage, provide a detailed explanation for each stage,
using the novel for information AND including a picture that accurately represents each
stage. You can create a PowerPoint, Poster, Google Slides presentation, etc.
2) Research the Forbidden City. Create a PowerPoint, poster or Google Slides presentation.
Remember a Works Cited page. Include images that accurately display your research.
Some information to include:
a) Where is the Forbidden City located?
b) When was it created?
c) Who lived in the Forbidden City?
d) What happened inside the walls of the Forbidden City?
e) What is the importance of the Forbidden City?
f) What two dynasties ruled there?
g) Any other information you find that you think is appropriate and worth sharing on
the Forbidden City
3) Research The Long March. Create a PowerPoint, poster or Google Slides presentation.
Remember a Works Cited page. Include images that accurately display your research.

a) What was The Long March?
b) When did it happen?
c) Why did it happen? What started it?
d) What was the result of The Long March?
e) Who was involved?
f) How long did this last?
g) Any other information that you think is appropriate and worth sharing on The Long

4) Heroes
a) Define in your own words, what a hero is.
b) Talk about the three people Alex thought were heroes in the novel,
Forbidden City. Explain what made them heroes.
c) Discuss the qualities of a hero – what makes someone a hero?
d) Research someone that you believe contains these qualities of a hero.
e) Who are they?
f) Where were they born? When were they born? Are they still alive? If
not, include the date they passed away.
g) What qualities of a hero do they have/what makes them a hero?
h) Is it important to have heroes in the world? Explain.
i) Include visuals throughout your PowerPoint.
5) Research the PLA (People’s Liberation Army). Include the following
information:
a) When was the PLA formed?
b) Why was the PLA formed?
c) What is the purpose of the PLA/What does the PLA do?
d) How many soldiers are in this party?
e) Why were their actions in Tian An Men Square on June 4th, 1989, a
huge shock to the people of Beijing?
f) Include visuals that go along with the information.
g) Include any other information you think is appropriate on the PLA.
