EARLY MORNING IN THE EMPTY HALLWAY - MORNING
FADE IN
A shaded hallway filled with plants, trees, chairs and
tables. The hallway is empty and no one else is around.
TEACHER #1 strolls in the hallway, walking towards their
classroom to start the day. They are clutching their book bag
and phone while also reaching for the keys in the bag to
their classroom.
Teacher #1 stops in front of their door and pulls out their
keychain where the key to the classroom is supposed to be.
The key is missing.
Teacher #1 pauses their movements and looks around
frantically. Their breath is heavy and frantic. The teacher
then rummages through their bag to see if it fell out
somewhere. Teacher #1 decides to re-trace their steps and
check under chairs, tables, and bushes.
CLOSE UP
The camera focuses on their panicked face, the key is no
where to be found. Teacher #1 looks more perplexed as they
reach for their bag one more time to pull out their planner.
The planner reads in big bold lettering, "First Day Teaching!
8 A.M.".
FULL SHOT
The scene shows the teacher dropping their bag and planner
while crouching down with their head in their hands. TEACHER
#2 is walking by and stops and stares at their colleague.
They're very confused as to why they are in such distress.
Walking over to teacher #1, teacher #2 comes into frame as
their shadow looms over teacher #1. Teacher #1 looks up in
confusion and stands up to their level. Teacher #2 gives a
questioned look as they are curious why teacher #1 is in so
much distress.
Teacher #1 holds out their empty key chain to hopefully
explain their situation. Teacher #2 sympathetically nods in
understanding. Teacher #2 reaches down to grab the book bag
and planner for Teacher #1. Teacher #1 smiles and takes them
2.
back and places the planner in the bag. Teacher #2 then pulls
out a card with writing on it. The card reads "Janitorial
Services" with a number under it.
Teacher #1 nods with a tight lipped smile as Teacher #2 walks
away and out of frame. Teacher #1 lets out a big sigh and
pulls out their phone to call the number. No one answers
after a few seconds and the teacher angrily ends the call.
The teacher then checks their phone for the time, and it is
7:51 A.M. They sigh and look towards their classroom. They
decide to head over to the main hall. While walking the
teacher tries to put their phone in their back pocket, but
they can't seem to fit it. Very confused, they reach for what
may be jammed, and pull out a separate keychain with the key
on it.
MEDIUM SHOT
The teacher sighs happily and is now extremely relieved. They
walk off towards a classroom door, ready to start their day.
