Work Permit

1. Dubai Open Work permit Visa

Introduction

An Open Work Permit allows individuals to work for any employer in a country
without needing a specific job offer or employer sponsorship. However, Dubai (UAE)
does not issue "open work permits" in the same way that countries like Canada do.
In Dubai, work permits are generally tied to specific employers. (Our company)

Process:

To work in Dubai, expatriates typically need a work visa sponsored by an employer. Here
is a general process for obtaining a work visa in Dubai:

1. Employment Contract: You need a job offer from a company in Dubai.

2. Work Visa Application: The employer sponsors the visa process and applies for a
work permit through the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation
(MOHRE).
3. Medical Tests: You must pass medical exams to ensure you are fit for work.
4. Residence Visa: After obtaining a work permit, you'll be issued a residence visa,
allowing you to live and work in Dubai.

Once issued, you are bound to work for the specific employer. Switching jobs requires
transferring your work permit and visa to the new employer.

So, in Dubai, there isn’t a true "open work permit"; the work permit is tied to specific
employment. But we will provide a “No Objection Letter” to work anywhere in UAE.

A work permit in Dubai is a legal document that allows foreign nationals to work in the
United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is a mandatory requirement for expatriates who want to be
employed in the country. Here is an overview of how the work permit process works in
Dubai:

1. Sponsorship by Employer

To obtain a work permit in Dubai, a foreign national must first secure a job offer from an
employer based in the UAE. The employer is responsible for sponsoring the work permit
application and handling the necessary paperwork.

The process to obtain a work permit typically involves the following steps:

● Job Offer: The employer offers you a job, and you accept.
● Application for Entry Visa: The employer applies for an entry visa on your behalf,
allowing you to enter the UAE legally.
● Medical Tests: You will need to undergo a series of medical tests (such as blood
tests and chest x-rays) to prove that you are fit for work.

3
● Work Permit Issuance: Once the medical tests are cleared, the employer will apply
for your work permit through the Ministry of Human Resources and
Emiratisation (MOHRE).

3. Residence Visa

After the work permit is approved, the employer will also apply for your residence visa,
which allows you to live in Dubai legally for the duration of your employment. The
residence visa is typically valid for 2-3 years, depending on your contract.

4. Labor Card

In addition to the residence visa, you will also be issued a labor card, which officially
registers you as a worker in the UAE.

5. Contract-Based

Your work permit is tied to your employment contract, meaning it is valid only as long as
you are working for the employer who sponsored it. If you switch jobs, your new employer
must apply to transfer your work permit and residence visa.

6. Renewal

Work permits and residence visas must be renewed before they expire, usually every 2 or 3
years, depending on the duration of your employment contract.
