practical applications, especially in diverse classroom settings.
Advantages of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT)
1. Promotes Real-Life Communication Skills: CLT encourages students to practice

outside the classroom.
2. Encourages Student Engagement: By focusing on interactive activities like role
plays, discussions, and group tasks, CLT motivates students to participate actively.

Challenges of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT)

In a classroom with diverse backgrounds, here’s how I would implement CLT effectively:
1. Role-Play Scenarios Related to Students' Lives: For example, if teaching students in
a community with high emphasis on trades or small businesses, I would set up role
plays like a customer and shopkeeper conversation. This contextualized approach helps
students feel more connected to the lesson.
2. Problem-Solving Activities: Introducing activities where students work in pairs to
solve a common problem (e.g., planning a trip or arranging an event) encourages them
to communicate their ideas and negotiate solutions in English.
3. Incorporating Local Contexts and Cultures: For students with similar native
languages or cultural backgrounds, I’d include scenarios that respect and draw from
their cultures. For instance, discussions on local festivals or community gatherings
could allow students to practice language relevant to their experiences.
4. Balancing Fluency with Accuracy: While focusing on communication, I would set
