3. What is an activity pattern?


Ans=> Activity patterns describe the kinds of activities that people perform while
handling policies within an organization. For example, reviewing and approving a
policy renewal is a common activity. Thus, it has its own activity pattern that creates
a reminder to perform this activity. Each pattern describes one kind of activity for
handling the policy or account process.

4. Is an activity always assigned to a group? A user?


Ans=> Ultimately, every activity is assigned to a group and a user in that group. This
user has the primary responsible for closing the activity. Activities can be temporarily
assigned to queues. A queue is a repository belonging to a group which contains
activities assigned to the group but not yet to any user in that group.

5. What do the following mean?


a. An activity in a list has a star icon in the first column.
Ans=> Indicates new or updated activity.
b. An activity in a list has an activity-with-clock icon in the second column.
Ans=> Indicates escalated activity
c. An activity in a list has a due date in red.
Ans=> Indicates activity is overdue.

6. Who can modify an activity?


Ans=> Administrators or managers with sufficient permissions can view, create, and
edit patterns on the Activity Patterns page under the Administration tab.
7. What is a user "custom attribute"?
Ans=> Custom attributes enable organizations to incorporate their unique policy
requirements into the policy center. They allow for the inclusion of additional
contextual information, specific conditions, or business rules relevant to the policies
being managed.
Custom attributes can often be integrated with other systems or tools used within an
organization.

8. When you associate a custom attribute to a user, what two things can you specify in
addition to simply saying the user has the custom attribute?
Ans=> The scope or context within which the custom attribute applies to the user.
This specifies the relevance or applicability of the custom attribute in a particular
context, such as a specific policy, system, or organizational unit.

9. Name some of the user roles in PolicyCenter.

11. What is a producer code? What does it identify?


Ans=>In PolicyCenter, a producer refers to any third party who brings business to the
insurer, such as an agent or broker. A producer code is an identifier used in Guidewire
systems to reference a specific producer.
12. What is an organization?
Ans=> In PolicyCenter, an organization contains producer information.
A PolicyCenter organization defines the users who can access configurations assigned
to the organization. Although this feature is optional, it gives the PolicyCenter
administrator the ability to limit which users access which configurations

13. What can an internal user view under the Administration tab?
Ans=> An internal user who has been granted the View All Users permission can access any
user, group, producer code, or organization, regardless of security zone.

14. Which role is designated by the internal organization to administer the external
users?
Ans=> UserAdmin Role

15. Why is the Status field important?


Ans=>Status field used to limit access to an agency whose contract has expired or for
a producer code that has been misused.
The status of the matching producer code and the status of the user’s organization
must be checked before allowing access through producer code security. Both status
fields must either be Active or on the list of allowed status values in the permission
handler.

16. When does PolicyCenter determine which permissions a given user has?
Ans=> Once the user's identity is established, the Policy Center checks the user's
authorization level or role. This information is usually stored in a user profile or
directory and defines the user's access rights and privileges.

17. How many permissions can a given role have?


Ans=> A user can have one or more number of permissions. We can assign each user
one or more roles that contain permissions. These permissions control what the user
can do in Guidewire PolicyCenter.
PolicyCenter assigns various roles to each individual user. Each role is a collection of
one or more permissions.
18. How many roles can a given user have?
Ans=> User can have multiple roles. The number of available roles in policy center
can vary depending on the specific implementation.
Administrators can assign roles to users. They can also create new roles and add or
remove.

19. How could you easily determine the number of roles that enable users to create
accounts?
Ans=> Role Permissions: Review the permissions associated with each role. Look for
permissions related to user management, account creation, or user registration.
These permissions may include actions such as "Create User," "Register User," or
similar.

20. With regards to forms, what role does the issuance system play?
Ans=> In PolicyCenter, the issuance system creates forms as part of the completion of
a transaction.
PolicyCenter issues a policy, it sends print requests for forms to the issuance system.
These forms physically document the policy. Forms might exist in electronic form
only, and the issuance system emails or faxes them to the insured.

21. When can a form be added to a policy?


Ans=> After quoting, the list of forms is just a preview, not the final list of forms that
will be attached to the policy. After the policy is bound (or after the policy is issued in
a submission) integration code sends XML data describing the form to an external
system which prints the forms to paper or electronic format.

22. When can PolicyCenter add forms to the policy?


Ans=> After quote PolicyCenter automatically add forms to policy.
for the insured customer, the physical representation of an insurance policy is a
collection of policy forms. Policy forms define aspects of the policy such as coverages,
exposures, exclusions, and government regulations.

23. When is an underwriting issue raised?


Ans=> The underwriting rule specifies when to check the policy for particular
conditions, this is the checking set of the rule. Underwriting referral reasons cause
underwriting issues to be raised the next time a policy transaction is run on that
policy.
24. What decides when an underwriting issue is raised?
Ans=> If rule criteria is met, At each checking set, PolicyCenter checks for issues and
then PolicyCenter raises an underwriting issue of that type. PolicyCenter raises issues
automatically based on policy choices such as the types of vehicles on a policy or
coverage amounts. This is accomplished either by defining the rule condition.

25. Who can approve or reject underwriting issues? How is this decided?
Ans=> Only authorized users who have assigned grant can approve or reject the
underwriter issue. To approve an issue, your authority profile must contain sufficient
authority. If you approve this issues, then only policy can be issue.
Underwriting issues are raised based on the underwriting authority of the current
user. Issues are sent for approval to a user with greater underwriting authority.

26. Where are the underwriting issues displayed?

 Select Underwriting Rule
Here all the underwriter rules are stored.
